Abstract

Pemanasan global dan perubahan iklim semakin memburuk dalam beberapa dekade ini. Peningkatan jumlah emisi gas rumah kaca yang signifikan menyebabkan terjadinya bencana alam seperti banjir, angin topan, kekeringan dan kebakaran hutan. Lingkungan binaan (built environment), termasuk bangunan dan infrastruktur, bertanggung jawab atas 75% emisi gas rumah kaca dunia dimana sektor bangunan sendiri menyumbang 37%. Pada UN Climate Change Conference atau Conference of the Parties (COP26) ke-26 di Glasgow yang diikuti hampir 200 negara, termasuk Indonesia, Glasgow Climate Pact yang bertujuan untuk fokus menjaga peningkatan suhu berada di bawah 1,5ºC telah disepakati. Aspek lain yang dibahas yaitu pembangunan bangunan. Pembangunan bangunan yang tidak didasari konsep berkelanjutan dapat menyebabkan berbagai permasalahan seperti kerusakan lingkungan. Maka dari itu, pembangunan berkelanjutan terutama pembangunan bangunan hijau atau green building perlu diterapkan agar dapat melestarikan sumber daya alam dan meningkatkan kualitas hidup. Saat ini, bangunan di kawasan Fakultas Teknik Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (UMJ) belum memiliki hasil penilaian kriteria bangunan hijau. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan penilaian untuk mengetahui kelayakan mengikuti asesmen kampus hijau UI GreenMetric menggunakan instrumen UI GreenMetric World University Rankings tahun 2021 untuk skala fakultas.

English Abstract

Global warming and climate change have worsened in recent decades. A significant increase in greenhouse gas emissions has caused natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes, droughts and forest fires. The built environment, including buildings and infrastructure, is responsible for 75% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions, of which the building sector alone accounts for 37%. At the 26th UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow which was attended by nearly 200 countries, including Indonesia, the Glasgow Climate Pact which aims to focus on keeping the rising temperature below 1.5ºC was agreed. Another aspect that was discussed in the conference is the construction of buildings. Construction of buildings that are not based on the concept of sustainability can cause various problems such as environmental damage. Sustainable development, especially the development of green buildings, needs to be implemented in order to preserve natural resources and improve the quality of life. Currently, Faculty of Engineering building in Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (UMJ) does not yet have any green building criteria assessment results. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a pre-assessment to determine the feasibility of participating in the UI GreenMetric green campus assessment using the 2021 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings instrument for the faculty scale.
