Abstract
Kotak karton gelombang (KKG) atau Corrugated board merupakan pengemas sekunder dengan fungsi melindungi produk selama penggudangan dan distribusi. Penggunaan KKG tak dapat dihindari bahkan diprediksi terus meningkat. PT X merupakan perusahaan penyedia makanan praktis kaya protein. Setiap produk diolah dengan standar pangan Indonesia. Sebagaimana tujuan perusahaan untuk mecari keuntungan yang sebesar-besarnya KKG berpeluang besar untuk cost-saving. Berdasarkan data analisa spesifikasi kotak karton oleh Research and Development (RnD) diketahui kotak karton miliki spesifikasi yang melebihi kebutuhan. Selain itu, data juga didukung oleh dokumentasi dari QC. Oleh karena itu dilakukan analisis dalam menentukan faktor-faktor yang dapat ditekan untuk menurunkan biaya kotak karton gelombang. Dilakukan analisis faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap harga menggunakan metode Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Terdapat lima tahapan analisis optimalisasi biaya. (1) mendefinisikan masalah (define), (2) pembuatan diagram faktor penyebab (fishbone diagram), (3) pengumpulan dan validasi data, (4) penentuan dan validasi akar faktor penyebab (5) memberikan rekomendasi kepada PT X. Berdasarkan analisis, performa karton yang optimalisasi diperoleh dengan penurunan gramatur kertas kraft dan pemilihan jenis kraft. Terdapat tiga tahap Analisa yaitu Fitting Test, Stacking Test, dan Transport Test. Terakhir dihitung penghematan dengan menggunakan hasil Analisa dibandingkan biaya terdahulu. Disimpulkan dengan penurunan kraft diperoleh penurunan biaya tanpa mempengaruhi performa kotak karton secara nyata.
English Abstract
Corrugated cardboard box (CCB) or Corrugated board is a secondary packaging with the function to protect products at storage and distribution phase. The use of CCB is unavoidable and predicted continue to increase. PT. X is a company that provides protein-rich food. Each product is processed with Indonesian food standards. As the company's goal is to seek the maximum profit, the CCB optimization has a great opportunity for cost-saving. Based on analysis by Research and Development (RnD) it was found that the carton specifications exceeded the criteria to protect the product. In addition, the data is also supported by documentation from QC. Therefore, an analysis is carried out in determining the factors that can be adjust to reduce the cost of corrugated cardboard boxes. Root Cause Analysis (RCA) method is used as method to analyze the factor that influence prices. There are five stages of cost optimization analysis. (1) defining the problem (define), (2) making a causal factor diagram (fishbone diagram), (3) collecting and validating data, (4) determining and validating the root causes of factors (5) providing recommendations to PT. X. Based on the analysis, Optimization carton performance is obtained by decreasing the grammage of kraft paper and choosing the type of kraft. There are three stages of analysis, namely Fitting Test, Stacking Test, and Transport Test. Finally calculated savings using the results of the analysis compared to previous costs. It was concluded that by decreasing the kraft, there was a decrease in cost without significantly affecting the performance of the carton box.
