Abstract
Masa remaja adalah masa yang paling menarik. Masa transisi di mana remaja bernegosiasi dari norma dan nilai yang ada di sekitarnya dalam upaya untuk 'menemukan jati diri'. Namun, norma dan nilai dalam masyarakat terkadang menjadi penghambat pengembangan diri mereka dalam masa pencarian jati diri dan seringkali membawa dampak negatif, salah satu adalah masalah perilaku seksual. Oleh karena itu, peneliti tertarik untuk meneliti pengaruh sosial terhadap masalah perilaku seksual pada remaja yang digambarkan dalam series Netflix Sex Education. Dalam penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini, peneliti menganalisis tiga karakter remaja yang berbeda (Adam, Otis, dan Lily) dengan tiga masalah perilaku seksual yang berbeda di Series NetflixSex Education musim pertama dan kedua. Menggunakan Teori Pembelajaran Sosial Albert Bandura dan Perkembangan Psikologis Erik Erikson, peneliti menganalisis pengaruh sosial, yang mempengaruhi masalah perilaku seksual pada remaja. Kajian film seperti Mise en scene dan Sinematografi digunakan untuk memperkuat argumentasi penelitian dan interpretasi analisis data. Untuk menjawab masalah penelitian yang dikemukakan pada bab 1, peneliti membagi bab III menjadi tiga sub-bab untuk masing-masing karakter: (1) kecemasan seksual Adam Groff, (2) fobia seksual Otis Milburn, dan (3) krisis seksual Lily Iglehart. Peneliti menemukan bahwa lingkungan sosial seperti keluarga dan teman berkontribusi terhadap masalah perilaku seksual Adam, Otis, dan Lily. Pengaruh negatif secara tidak langsung dari orang tua sebagai model kehidupan bagi anak-anak mereka menyebabkan perkembangan diri yang lemah dan kebingungan identitas pada awal kehidupan Adam dan Otis. Akibatnya, mereka mengalami masalah perilaku seksual. Dengan analisis objek yang sama, series Netflix Sex Education, peneliti selanjutnya juga dapat menggunakan musim ketiga dari seri ini, yang mengarah ke berbagai topik diskusi. Analisis data bisa lebih kompleks dengan menggabungkan musim pertama dan kedua dengan musim ketiga
English Abstract
Teenage life is the most interesting period of time. A period of transition in which teenagers negotiate from the norms and values that exist around them in order to 'find themselves.' However, norms and values in society sometimes become a resistor to their self-development in finding themselves and often bring negative impacts such as sexual behavior problems. Therefore, the researcher is interested in researching sexual behavior problems among teenagers portrayed in Netflix’s Sex Education. In this qualitative descriptive research, the researcher analyzes three different teenage characters (Adam, Otis, and Lily) with three different sexual behavior problems in Netflix's Sex Education seasons 1 & 2. Using Albert Bandura's Social Learning Theory and Erik Erikson's Psychological Development, the researcher analyzes the social influences, which affect sexual behavior problems. The movie studies such as Mise en scene and Cinematography are used to strengthen the research argument and interpretation of the data analysis. To answer the research problem stated in chapter 1, the researcher divided chapter III into three sub-chapter for each character: (1) the sexual anxiety of Adam Groff, (2) the sexual phobia of Otis Milburn, and (3) the sexual crisis of Lily Iglehart. The researcher finds out that social surroundings such as family and friends contribute to the sexual behavior problems of Adam, Otis, and Lily. The negative indirect reinforcement of parents as a life model for their children led to weak self-development and identity confusion in Adam and Otis’s early life. As a result, they experience sexual behavior problems. With the same object analysis, Netflix's Sex Education, the further researcher can also use the third season of this series, leading to various topic discussions. The data analysis can be more complex by combining the first and second seasons with the third seasons
