Abstract
Pada tahap Pengenalan, terdapat permasalahan yang dialami siswa kelas VIII-H di SMPN 1 Batu dalam memahami aspek kebahasaan teks Biografi, khususnya pada kata sambung, kalimat tunggal, dan kalimat majemuk. Kesulitan yang dialami siswa dibuktikan dengan pelaksanaan pembelajaran pra siklus. Dari pelaksanaan pembelajaran pra siklus diketahui hasil 76,7% siswa yang tidak mencapai ketuntasan sesuai dengan nilai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) yaitu 78. Masalah yang diidentifikasi peneliti dan guru bahasa Indonesia kelas VIII-H berkolaborasi untuk memecahkan masalah yang dialami siswa dengan melakukan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Penelitian ini menggunakan media monopoli yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam memahami aspek kebahasaan teks biografi. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah aktivitas pembelajaran pada kompetensi dasar memahami aspek kebahasaan teks biografi pada siswa kelas VIII-H SMP N 1 Batu. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, tes, angket, dan wawancara. Kegiatan belajar mengajar yang berhasil ditunjukkan jika terdapat lebih dari 65% siswa yang lulus kriteria nilai minimal yaitu kriteria nilai minimal 78. Peningkatan aktivitas mengajar dari siklus I ke siklus I sebesar 49%, sedangkan peningkatan aktivitas pembelajaran dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 15%. Peningkatan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa guru telah merencanakan materi dengan baik. Selain itu, guru telah melakukan pra kegiatan, saat kegiatan, dan pasca kegiatan secara sistematis. Peningkatan juga terjadi pada siswa, dari pra siklus ke siklus I peningkatan siswa sebesar 43%, sedangkan pada siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 17%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa belajar dengan baik tentang materi yang diberikan oleh guru. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa ada peningkatan pemahaman siswa dalam aspek kebahasaan teks biografi. Hasil aktivitas belajar pada siklus I menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman siswa tentang aspek kebahasaan teks biografi dari pra siklus ke siklus I dengan persentase 41,22%. Sedangkan peningkatan dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 25,8%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat diketahui bahwa siswa telah mampu menemukan dan menjelaskan kata penghubung, kalimat dasar, dan kalimat kompleks berdasarkan definisi, ciri, dan contohnya. Padahal, ada beberapa siswa yang kesulitan dalam menjelaskan struktur kalimat.
English Abstract
In the Introduction stage, there werethe problems experienced by students of class of VIII-H in SMPN1 Batu in understanding linguistic aspects of text of Biography, especially in conjunctions, a single sentence, and compound sentences. The Difficulties experienced by students were evidenced by the implementation of the pre-cycle of learning. From the implementation of pre-cycle learning was known the results 76,7% of students who didn’t achieve mastery according to the value of Minimum Complete Criteria (KKM) that was 78. The problems identified, researcher and teacher of Indonesian of class of VIII-H collaborated to solve problems experienced by students by conducting classroom action research (PTK). This study used a monopoly media that aimed to improve the students' ability to understand the aspects of linguistic text of biography. Sources of data in this study were the learning activity in basic competence in understanding the linguistic aspects of the text biography at class of VIII-H of SMP N 1 Batu. The data collection was done by observation, tests, questionnaires, and interviews. The successful teaching and learning activity was shown if there were more than 65% students who passed the Minimum score criteria, which the minimum score criteria was 78. The improvement of the teaching activity from precycle to the first cycle was 49%, while the improvement of teaching activity from the first cycle to the second cycle was 15%. Those improvements showed that the teacher had planned the material well. Beside that, the teacher had done the pre-activity, whilst-activity, and post-activity sistematicly. The improvement also happened to the students, from precycle to the first cycle the improvement of the students was 43%, while in the first cycle to second cyycle were 17%. It showed that students learned well about the material given by the teacher. This study also found that there was the students’ improvement in understanding the linguistic aspect of Biography text. The result of the learning activity in the first cycle showed that there was the students’ improvement in understanding linguistic aspect of biography text from the precycle to the first cycle with the percentage 41.22%. While the improvement from the first cycle to the second cycle was 25.8%. Based on that result, it could be known that the students had been able to find and explain the conjunction word, base sentence, and Complex sentence based on the definiton, characteristics, and the example. Though, there were few students who difficult in explaining the structure of the sentence.
