Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis praktik manajemen pengetahuan menggunakan pandangan berbasis pengetahuan (Knowledge-Based View) serta tantangan yang dihadapi dalam mengimplementasikan manajemen pengetahuan dalam upaya meraih keunggulan kompetitif yang dilakukan oleh PT PLN (Persero). PT PLN (Persero) merupakan BUMN yang bergerak dalam bidang pembangkitan, transmisi dan distribusi listrik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan paradigma post-positivisme dan desain penelitian menggunakan studi kasus (single case). Obyek penelitian ini adalah tim knowledge management PT PLN (Persero) kantor pusat. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi langsung, review dokumen, arsip dan website korporat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keunggulan kompetitif PLN diraih dengan knowledge sharing sebagai budaya organisasi, menjadikan manajemen pengetahuan sebagai usaha peningkatan kinerja individu dan organisasi serta dengan memaksimalkan peran KM. Tantangan manajemen pengetahuan berasal dari faktor eksternal (semakin meningkatnya IPP/ Independent Power Producer serta ketersediaan sumber daya energi), dan faktor internal (adanya perbedaan gap generasi, tingginya tingkat rotasi pegawai tanpa didukung oleh transfer pengetahuan yang memadai, pemilihan metode transfer pengetahuan yang cocok, kurangnya pendokumentasian transfer pengetahuan serta struktur organisasi).
English Abstract
This research aims to analyze knowledge management practices through Knowledge-Based View (KBV) an the challenges faced in implementing knowledge management to gain competitive advantage conducted by PT PLN (Persero). PT PLN (Persero) is one of state-owned company engaged in the generating, transmissing and distributing electricity. This research used qualitative approach with post-positivism paradigm and research design using case study (single case study) headquarter. The object of this research is the knowledge management team of PT PLN (Persero). Data obtained through interview, direct observation, document review, archive and corporate website. The results showed that the competitive advantage of PT PLN (Persero) was achieved by knowledge sharing as the organizational culture of PLN, knowledge management in an effort to improve individual and organizational performance and by maximizing the role of KM. The challenge of knowledge management comes from external factors (increasing IPP / Independent Power Producer and availability of energy resources), and internal factors (gap generation differences, high rotation of employees without the support of adequate knowledge transfer, selection of suitable knowledge transfer methods, lack of documentation of knowledge transfer and organizational structure).
