Abstract

Penelitian ini melihat setiap komunitas memiliki kearifan lokal yang menjadi sumber modal sosial yang dapat diakses dan dimanfaatkan oleh anggotanya. Dalam hal ini masyarakat itu sendirilah yang membangun modal sosialnya sendiri, dengan relasi-relasi yang dibangun antar masyarakat melalui kearifan lokalnya. Warga Komunitas Adat Terpencil (KAT) tentu tidak terlepas dari potensi-potensi konflik, namun mereka selalu bisa mengatasi potensi konflik yang ada diantara mereka, tentunya ada peran kearifan lokal sebagai modal sosial yang kuat diantara mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori modal sosial Putnam dan di lakukan di Desa Buhu, Kecamatan Tibwa, Kabupaten Gorontalo. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Informan penelitian berjumlah enam orang melalui teknik penentuan informan snowball sampling. Penelitian ini menemukan unsur solidaritas penting dalam membangun modal sosial yang kuat di dalam warga Komunitas Adat Terpencil (KAT), hal ini berbeda dengan Putnam yang hanya menekankan pada tiga unsur yakni kepercayaan, jaringan dan norma. Selain itu peneliti menemukan bahwa dalam proses berjejaring, warga KAT tidak hanya berhubungan dengan orang-orang yang mereka kenal saja. Hal ini berbeda dengan yang dikemukakan oleh Putnam bahwa untuk mewujudkan berbagai hal, seringkali orang meminta bantuan teman, keluarga atau kenalan yang dapat dipercaya. Kearifan lokal huyula yang membangun modal sosial dalam warga Komunitas Adat Terpencil (KAT) mampu menjembatani perbedaan-perbedaan yang terdapat di suatu komunitas masyarakat, dan dapat mengatasi potensi-potensi konflik antara warga Komunitas Adat Terpencil (KAT).

English Abstract

This research sees that every community has local wisdom which is a source of social capital that can be accessed and utilized by the members. In this case, the community by itself builds their own social capital, with relationships built between communities through the local wisdom. The traditional remote community, certainly not separated from potential conflicts, but they can always overcome the potential conflicts that exist between them, because the role of local wisdom as a strong social capital among them. The theory used on this research is social capilat Putnam and conducted in Buhu Village, Tibawa District, Gorontalo County. This research utilized case study as qualitative approach. Data collecting used in-depth interview, observation and documentation. Data were collected on six informants by using snowball sampling techniqu. This research found that the element of solidarity is important in building a strong social capital in the traditional remove community. This is different from Putnam which only emphasizes three elements, beliefs, networks and norms. In addition, the researchers found that in the process of networking, the traditional remove community is not only dealing with people they know. There also different with Putnam that to realize various things, often people ask for help from their friends, family or trusted acquaintance. The ‘huyula’ local wisdom that builds the social capital in the traditional remove community is able to bridge the differences that exist in a community, and can overcome the potential conflicts between the traditional remove community.
