Abstract
English Abstract
Vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) is a fishery commodity that has high economic value and a very wide market. The government targets an increase in shrimp production to reach 250% as much 2 million tons by 2024. Increasing the amount of production with an intensive system, namely by increasing stocking density which has an impact on the waste of aquaculture feed residues can reduce water quality. Increasing the frequency of feeding more often is thought to be able to maintain water quality. More frequent feeding intervals can accelerate the Average Body Weight (ABW) and Average Daily Growth (ADG) of shrimp as well as Survival Rate (SR) and Feed Convertion Ratio (FCR). The application of technology in the form of an automatic feeder (Autofeeder) can help increase the frequency of feeding and the time interval can be adjusted according to the needs of the shrimp. The purpose of this study was to determine and analysis the effect of the application of an automatic feeder (Autofeeder) with different durations on the growth rate of vannamei shrimp (L. vannamei) in intensive culture systems. The method in this study uses a comparative descriptive method. The method describes and compares the use of Autofeeder feeding with manual feeding. This research was conducted in the vannamei shrimp farming pond, PT. Pyramide Paramount Indonesia (PPI - Banten) with a pool area of 2500 m2. Parameters in this study: Average Body Weight (ABW), Average Daily Growth (ADG), Survival Rate (SR), Feed Convertion Ratio (FCR), and water quality parameters incuding pH, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), temperature, nitrite, ammonium, and phosphate. Then the data were analyzed statistically by making graphs using Microsoft Excel 2019 and PCA test analysis using the XLSTAT 2022 software. The results of the study on DOC 35 - 70 days with manual feeding obtained ABW and ADG values of 7.47 grams and 0.07 – 0.29 grams/day, while by applying the Autofeeder for 18 hours and 24 hours, ABW values were obtained respectively. 11.70 grams and 13.39 grams while ADG values obtained were 0.08 – 047 grams/day and 0.08 – 0.48 grams/day. In manual feeding, FCR and SR values were 1.12 and 91.58%, while for feeding using an Autofeeder for 18 hours and 24 hours, FCR values were 1.03 and 1.02 while the SR was 92, 77%, and 94.01%. The water quality parameters obtained from manual feeding and using an Autofeeder on the parameters of pH, DO, temperature, nitrite, ammonium, and phosphate showed results optimal or safe for cultivation. The results of the analysis can be said that Autofeeder is feasible to be applied to vannamei shrimp aquaculture ponds with intensive cultivation systems.
