Abstract
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan persaingan bank syariah di empat negara (kecuali Jordan dengan alasan keterbatasan data) dan juga untuk menemukan syariah maqashid dan profitabilitas bank syariah di lima negara. Hasil estimasi menunjukkan bahwa dalam hal dana pihak ketiga, persaingan bank syariah di Pakistan, Kuwait, Qatar dan Indonesia pada 2010-2017 dapat diklasifikasikan sebagai oligopoli tanpa kolusi. Sementara dari segi pembiayaan, persaingan bank syariah di Indonesia pada 2010-2013 dapat diklasifikasikan sebagai monopolistik dan struktur pasar bank syariah di Kuwait pada 2010-2013 dapat diklasifikasikan sebagai kolusi oligopoli. Lebih lanjut, hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa maqashid syariah pada bank syariah di lima negara yaitu Pakistan, Kuwait, JOrdan, Qatar dan Indonesia tidak baik. Satu-satunya bank yang memiliki profitabilitas baik adalah yang berlokasi di Pakistan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan intensitas agar bank syariah ini mampu meningkatkan syariah maqashid mereka. Selain itu, bank dengan profitabilitas rendah dapat merujuk ke bank syariah yang berlokasi di Pakistan.
English Abstract
The purpose of this study are to discover the Islamic banks competition in the four contries (except Jordan by reason of the limitation of the data) and also to discover the maqashid sharia and the profitability of Islamic banks in the five contries. The results of the estimation show that in terms of the fund of the third party, the competition of Islamic banks in Pakistan, Kuwait, Qatar and Indonesia in 2010-2017 can be classified as oligopoly without collusion. While in terms of financing, the Islamic banks competition in Indonesia in 2010-2013 can be classified as monopolistic and the Islamic banks competition in Kuwait in 2010-2013 can be classified as oligopoly collusion. Furthermore, the results of the study also show that the maqashid shariah on the Islamic banks in the five contries which are Pakistan, Kuwait, JOrdan, Qatar and Indonesia are not good. The only bank that have good profitability are those located in Pakistan. Therefore, intensity is needed in order to make these Islamic banks are capable of improving their maqashid sharia. Moreover, banks with low profitability can refer to the Islamic banks located in Pakistan.
