Abstract

English Abstract

Vannamei shrimp is a shrimp that is often cultivated for its promising prospects and profits. One of the challenges in vaname culture is the deteriorating of water quality during the cultivation. Therefore, it is necessary to understand more about the performance of vaname shrimp production and water quality factors during vaname shrimp rearing to minimize production failures. The study aims to determine the production performance of vaname shrimp based on the value of biomass, SR, FCR, GR, and productivity and analyze water quality during the cultivation. This research was was conducted at Tambak Brata Farm, Legonkulon, Subang, West Java from January 2022-March 2022. The research method used is explorative method. The main parameters measured were biomass, SR, FCR, GR, and productivity. The supporting parameters measured were temperature, pH, DO, salinity, nitrite, ammonia, plankton, TVC, and TBC. Data analysis carried out in this study was descriptive quantitative analysis by displaying production performance data and biology, physical and chemical parameters data. Data were compared with secondary data from literature to determine the production performance of vaname shrimp. The results of this study were after 120 days of cultivation, the harvest result were 7011,7 kg biomass, productivity 18,484 kg/ha, SR 79%, FCR 1.7, and GR 0.25 g/day. The results of the physical and chemical water quality measurements were temperature 28.9 with a range of 25.1-32.8, pH 8.3 with a range of 7-9.3, DO 5.4 with a range of 4-7.7, salinity 14 with a range of 5-25, nitrite 2,3 with a range of undetectable-5, and ammonia 0.04 with a range of undetectable-0.09. Plankton identification results found 7 genera that consist 35 species. The plankton that dominates the waters are Chlorophyta with a percentage of 78.36%. The TBC results were 16,853 CFU/ml with a range of 6,800-34,000 CFU/ml. The TVC results were 16,853 CFU/ml with a range of 6,800-34,000 CFU/ml. The results of the TVC/TBC Ratio are 4.39% with a range of 1.62%-7.83%. The conclusion of this study is that the overall production performance is good and the water quality during maintenance is considered optimal for vaname shrimp culture. But the FCR results are considered bad because it’s too high, the nitrit value was exceeds the safe limit, and the TVC/TBC ratio are considered bad because it exceeds 1%. However, it can be said that the production of vaname shrimp is successful and profitable.
