Abstract
Suasana lingkungan rumah sakit sering menakutkan bagi pasien, takut atas penyakit maupun takut terhadap suasana yang suram dan gelap. Penurunan BOR RS Panti Waluya Sawahan Malang yang berdiri sejak 1929, dalam tiga tahun terakhir perlu didalami tentang lived experience pasien yang meliputi lived body, lived space, lived time, dan lived relationship selama dirawat di rumah sakit terhadap unsur-unsur healing environment. Metode menggunakan desain penelitian kualitatif fenomenologi interpretive hermeneutic. Instrumen adalah peneliti sendiri, situs adalah RS Panti Waluya Sawahan Malang dan dilakukan wawancara mendalam terhadap empat orang pasien yang pernah atau sedang dirawat di rumah sakit. Analisa data menghasilkan 13 tema, yaitu pasien merasa nyaman terhadap suasana lingkungan walaupun tidak puas terhadap kualitas pelayanan; merasa puas terhadap kualitas pelayanan walaupun tidak nyaman terhadap suasana lingkungan; dan semangat sembuh karena merasa masih dibutuhkan keluarga. Tema inti adalah pasien merasa cepat sembuh bila kualitas pelayanan baik dan suasana lingkungan rumah sakit seperti di rumah sendiri atau homey. Tema inti tersebut merupakan lived experience pasien yang dapat mendukung kesembuhannya. Suasana homey yang mendukung kesembuhan dapat tercipta oleh sikap tulus dalam memberi kemampuan terbaik, melayani dan menciptakan suasana lingkungan yang nyaman, aman dan penuh kasih.
English Abstract
Patients frequently dread hospital ambience associated with the dread of diseases as well as of the somber atmosphere. The dwindling BOR of last three years at the Panti Waluya Sawahan Hospital in Malang established in 1929, requires investigation concerning patient’s lived experience comprising lived body, lived space, lived time, and lived relationship during hospitalization in terms of the elements of healing environment. This research employed qualitative hermeneutical interpretive phenomenological method. The instrument is the researcher herself. The site is Panti Waluya Sawahan Hospital in Malang. In- depth interview was conducted on four patients who were or are being hospitalized. The data analysis yielded 13 themes including feelings of comfort with the hospital ambience despite dissatisfaction with the care quality; contentment with the care quality despite the ambience discomfort; and desiring faster recovery for family support. The core theme comprised faster recovery feeling from the provision of quality service and the homey ambience. The core themes constitute healing supportive lived experiences. Homey ambience can be afforded by sincerity in extending the best performance, service, and creating cozy, safe, and loving environment.
