Abstract
Salah satu mesin yang digunakan dalam proses produksi di PT X adalah boiler. Performa boiler (boiler performance) berkaitan dengan kemampuan memindahkan energi panas dari proses pembakaran bahan bakar untuk mengubah air menjadi uap (steam) dengan memenuhi standar yang telah ditetapkan pada semua aspek operasi. Boiler pada departemen engineering PT X merupakan boiler berjenis pipa api (fire tube). Sumber panas yang digunakan boiler berasal dari proses pembakaran bahan bakar batubara dengan tipe pembakaran stoker. Steam yang dihasilkan oleh boiler kemudian digunakan untuk kebutuhan proses produksi pada departemen SKM dan departemen liquid. Selama proses produksi di PT X, belum pernah dilakukan analisis kapabilitas proses pada boiler. Berdasarkan latar belakang tersebut, maka perlu dilakukan analisis kapabilitas proses pada boiler dengan menggunakan indeks process performance (Pp dan Ppk). Analisis ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui apakah parameter-parameter operasi boiler sudah memenuhi batasan operasi yang telah ditetapkan oleh PT X. Metode yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah studi kasus. Studi kasus penelitian menggunakan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari form daily report boiler dari departemen engineering PT X pada bulan Januari sampai Desember 2020. Parameter-parameter operasi boiler unit III yang akan dianalisis kapabilitasnya antara lain sebagai berikut: feed water temperature, feed water pressure, boiler pressure, boiler level, flue gas temperature in economizer, flue gas temperature out economizer dan feed water temperature out economizer. Data tersebut nantinya akan diolah menggunakan software Minitab 19. Hasil analisis juga dilengkapi dengan diagram fishbone untuk melihat akar penyebab masalah. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan, didapatkan rata-rata nilai indeks process performance data parameter-paramater operasi boiler unit III di PT X sepanjang tahun 2020 antara lain sebagai berikut: feed water temperature (Pp 0,61 dan Ppk 0,52), feed water pressure (Pp 0,78 dan Ppk 0,52), boiler pressure (Pp 0,62 dan Ppk 0,43), boiler level (Pp 0,96 dan Ppk 0,70), flue gas temperature in economizer (Ppk 2,00), flue gas temperature out economizer (Ppk 1,85), dan feed water temperature out economizer (Pp 0,82 dan Ppk 0,62). Sehingga dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa data parameter feed water temperature, feed water pressure, boiler pressure, boiler level, dan feed water temperature out economizer belum memenuhi kriteria kapabel (Pp dan Ppk <1), sedangkan data parameter flue gas temperature in economizer dan flue gas temperature out economizer sudah memenuhi kriteria kapabel (Ppk >1,33). Identifikasi permasalahan yang menyebabkan beberapa data parameter operasi boiler unit III belum memenuhi batasan operasi (out-of-spec) ditinjau dari kategori utama penyebab masalah (5M dan 1E) diantaranya adalah faktor man, machine, material, method, measurement, dan environment.
English Abstract
One of the machines used in the production process at PT X is a boiler. Boiler performance is related to the ability to transfer heat energy from the fuel combustion process to convert water into steam by meeting the standards that have been set in all aspects of operation. The boiler in the engineering department of PT X is a fire tube boiler. The heat source used by the boiler comes from the process of burning coal fuel with the stoker type of combustion. The steam produced by the boiler is then used for the needs of the production process in the SKM department and the liquid department. During the production process at PT X, there has never been a process capability analysis on the boiler. Based on this background, it is necessary to analyze the process capability of the boiler using the process performance index (Pp and Ppk). This analysis is intended to determine whether the boiler operating parameters have met the operating limits set by PT X. The method used in this research is a case study. The research case study uses secondary data obtained from the boiler daily report form from the engineering department of PT X in January to December 2020. The operating parameters of the unit III boiler which will be analyzed for its capabilities are as follows: feed water temperature, feed water pressure, boiler pressure, boiler level, flue gas temperature in economizer, flue gas temperature out economizer and feed water temperature out economizer. The data will be processed using Minitab 19 software. The results of the analysis are also equipped with a fishbone diagram to see the root cause of the problem. Based on the calculation results, the average value of the process performance index for unit III boiler operating parameters data at PT X throughout 2020 are as follows: feed water temperature (Pp 0.61 and Ppk 0.52), feed water pressure (Pp 0 .78 and Ppk 0.52), boiler pressure (Pp 0.62 and Ppk 0.43), boiler level (Pp 0.96 and Ppk 0.70), flue gas temperature in economizer (Ppk 2.00), flue gas temperature out economizer (Ppk 1.85), and feed water temperature out economizer (Pp 0.82 and Ppk 0.62). So it can be concluded that the feed water temperature, feed water pressure, boiler pressure, boiler level, and feed water temperature out economizer parameter data have not met the capable criteria (Pp and Ppk <1), while the flue gas temperature in economizer and flue gas temperature out economizer parameter data have met the capable criteria (Ppk > 1.33). Identification of problems that caused some unit III boiler operating parameter data have not met the operating limits (out-of-spec) in terms of the main categories causing problems (5M and 1E) including man, machine, material, method, measurement, and environment factors.
