Abstract

English Abstract

Drip irrigation is the application of water in the form of drops through pipes around plants or along planting paths. This irrigation only wets the area around the pond, but the water can be absorbed quickly in conditions of low soil moisture. If traced from the name, evapotranspiration is a combination of two activities, namely evaporation and transpiration. Namely the process of moving water from the soil to the air due to evaporation (evaporation) and the transfer of water from plants to the air due to photosynthesis (transpiration). The plant used was red chili (Capsicum annum L.) and observed plant growth and evapotranspiration for 60 days of planting. Using three types of mixed planting media in the form of soil, animal manure, and differentiating materials, namely cocopeat, husk charcoal and raw husk. The results of the WHC (water holding capacity) test were obtained for the three mixtures of planting media with a mixture of cocopeat of 58.95%, a mixture of husk charcoal of 44.97% and a mixture of raw husks of 19.36%. The amount of WHC (water holding capacity) obtained is directly proportional to the weight of the plant and its water needs (evapotranspiration). The average dry weight of plants in the cocopeat mixture was 26.59 grams, the husk charcoal mixture was 16.34 grams and the raw husk mixture was 10.55 grams. Likewise for plant evapotranspiration, in almost all phases of plant growth, cocopeat mixed growing media has the highest water requirement compared to a mixture of husk charcoal and raw husk.
