Abstract

Periodontitis merupakan penyakit multifactorial menyebabkan peradangan pada jaringan periodontal yang disebabkan oleh Porphyromonas gingivalis dan menimbulkan komplikasi dapat memperburuk penyakit diabetes melitus. Alternatif pengobatan menggunakan biji pepaya (Carica papaya linn). Nanoliposom ekstrak biji pepaya mengandung senyawa aktif dan keunggulan sebagai pelindung pengiriman obat ke tulang alveolar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian nanoliposom ekstrak biji pepaya terhadap jumlah sel osteoblas pada proses osteogenesis model tikus diabetik periodontitis. Menggunakan 36 ekor tikus Sprague dawley dibagi 3 kelompok time series 3, 7 dan 14. Kelompok K (tanpa perlakuan), P1 (diberikan ekstrak biji pepaya 96%) dan P2 (diberikan nanoliposom ekstrak biji pepaya 96%). Ekstrak biji pepaya diberikan 0,5 ml per oral dan topikal 0,03 ml. Osteoblas dihitung dengan pewarnaan HE. Hasil uji One Way Anova hari ke-14 menunjukkan perbedaan bermakna jumlah sel osteoblas (p<0,05) antar kelompok. Uji Post Hoc hari ke-14 menunjukkan adanya perbedaan pada P2 dibandingkan K / P1 (p<0,05). Dapat disimpulkan nanoliposom ekstrak biji pepaya berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan jumlah sel osteoblas pada proses osteogenesis tikus model diabetik periodontitis.

English Abstract

Periodontitis is a multifactorial disease that causes inflammation of the periodontal tissues. Chronic periodontitis are caused mostly by Porphyromonas gingivalis, it cause various complications including making worse the diabetes mellitus. Alternative treatment for example papaya seeds (Carica papaya linn). Nanoliposome extract of papaya seeds contains active compounds and has the advantage of being protective in drug delivery to the alveolar bone against in the osteogenesis process. To investigate the effect of nanoliposomes extract of papaya seed on the number of osteoblasts in the osteogenesis process of diabetic periodontitis rats. Used a sample of 36 rats Sprague dawley was divided into 3 groups with time series 3, 7 and 14. K groups (without treatment), P1 (given 96% papaya seed extract) and P2 (given 96% Nanoliposomes papaya seed extract). The extract was given orally 0.5 ml and drop as much as 0.03 ml. The osteoblast was counted by HE staining. Based on the One Way ANOVA test on day 14 showed there is a significance difference ( p<0.05 ) between each group on the number of osteoblast. Post Hoc test on day 14 showed the difference in the P2 group compared with K/P1 group ( p<0.05). Nanoliposomes extract of papaya seeds can increase the number of osteoblast in the osteogenesis process on rat induced diabetic periodontitis.
