Abstract

Gingivitis merupakan suatu inflamasi yang melibatkan jaringan lunak di sekitar gigi yaitu jaringan gingiva. Obat yang biasanya dikonsumsi yaitu antibiotik chlorhexidine. Namun, antibiotik tersebut kurang efektif dikarenakan memiliki efek samping jika dikonsumsi dalam jangka panjang. Saat ini banyak dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui manfaat tumbuhan bagi kesehatan, salah satunya yaitu tumbuhan sidaguri (Sida rhombifolia L.) Akar tumbuhan sidaguri diketahui memiliki kandungan steroid yang dapat dijadikan sebagai antiinflamasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jumlah sel makrofag setelah pemberian nano gel steroid ekstrak akar sidaguri (Sida rhombifolia L.) pada proses penyembuhan gingivitis pada tikus wistar putih jantan (Rattus norvegicus). Penelitian ini menggunakan true experimental design secara in vivo menggunakan rancangan Randomized Post Test Only Controlled Group Design dengan tikus putih galur wistar jantan sebanyak 24 ekor. Terdapat enam kelompok perlakuan, dengan kelompok perlakuan masing-masing dan diberi pemberian nano gel steroid ekstrak akar sidaguri (Sida rhombifolia L.) dengan dosis 0,6; 1,2; 1,8; dan 2,4 g/kgBB. Diberikan pada hewan uji secara oral dengan bantuan cotton buds. Pada hari kelima tikus didekaputasi dan dibuat preparat histologi jaringan untuk menghitung jumlah sel makrofag. Jumlah sel makrofag paling banyak terdapat pada kelompok kontrol positif dan paling sedikit terdapat pada kelompok perlakuan empat dengan pemberian pemberian nano gel steroid ekstrak akar sidaguri (Sida rhombifolia L.) dengan dosis 2,4 g/kgBB. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pemberian nano gel steroid ekstrak akar sidaguri (Sida rhombifolia L.) berpengaruh secara optimal terhadap penurunan jumlah sel makrofag pada proses penyembuhan gingivitis tikus wistar putih jantan (Rattus norvegicus).

English Abstract

Gingivitis is an inflammation that involves soft tissue around the teeth, namely gingival tissue. The drug that's usually consumed is antibiotic chlorhexidine. However, these antibiotics are less effective because they have side effects if taken in the long term. Currenty, a lot of research is being carried out to find the benefits of plants for health, one of which is the sidaguri plant. Sidaguri root has a steroid content that can be used as an anti-inflammatory. The purpose of the study is to determine the number of macrophage cells after administration of nano gel steroid extract sidaguri root (Sida rhombifolia L.) in the process of healing gingivitis in rats wistar white male (Rattus norvegicus). This study uses a true experimental design in vivo using a design Randomized Controlled Group Post Test Only Design with male Wistar rat strain a much as 24 tails. There are six treatment groups, with each treatment group and were given of nano gel steroid extract sidaguri root (Sida rhombifolia L.) at a dose of 0.6; 1,2; 1.8; and 2.4 g/kg weight. Given to animals tested orally with the help of cotton buds. On the fifth day, the rats were decapitated and tissue histology preparations were made to count the number of macrophage cells. The highest number of macrophahe cells is in the group of positive control and the little there is in the group treatment four with given nano gel steroid extract sidaguri root (Sida rhombifolia L.) with a dose of 2,4 g/kg weight. The conclusions of this research is the given of nano gel steroid extract sidaguri root (Sida rhombifolia L.) effect of the decrease in the number of macrophage cells in the process of healing gingivitis in rats wistar white male (Rattus norvegicus).
