Abstract

Pelet Biomassa atau yang biasa dikenal dengan biopelet adalah salah satu biomassa yang dibuat dari hasil pemampatan menjadi pelet dimana dapat menjadi bahan bakar alternatif, salah satu biomassa yang dapat dimanfaatkan yaitu Tandan kosong kelapa sawit (TKKS) dan Limbah Tepung Porang. Biopelet dibuat menggunakan Mesin Bio-fuel Pellet yang terdiri dari 3 proses yaitu penghalusan, pencampuran, dan pencetakan. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) Faktorial yaitu komposisi campuran bahan dan ukuran diameter cetakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik biopelet berdasarkan SNI 8675:2018 dan menemukan formulasi terbaik dari berbagai perlakuan. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa komposisi campuran bahan baku dan ukuran diameter cetakan berpengaruh nyata terhadap karakteristik biopelet. Secara keseluruhan biopelet sudah memenuhi SNI 8675: 2018 kecuali kadar zat terbang. Biopelet terbaik didapatkan pada perlakuan komposisi 60% TKKS dan 40% Limbah Tepung Porang dengan ukuran diameter cetakan 6 milimeter dengan nilai densitas 0,98 g/cm3, kadar air 4,50%, kadar abu 4,58%, kadar zat terbang 80,88%, kadar karbon terikat 14,55%, dan nilai kalor 23,90 MJ/kg

English Abstract

Biomass pellets or commonly known as biopelets are one of the biomass made from compressed into pellets which can be used as alternative fuels, one of the biomass that can be utilized is oil palm empty fruit bunch (TKKS) and Porang Flour Waste. Biopelets are made using a Bio-fuel Pellet Machine which consists of 3 processes, namely refining, mixing, and printing. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial, namely the composition of the mixture of materials and the diameter of the mold. This study aims to determine the characteristics of biopelets based on SNI 8675: 2018 and find the best formulations from various treatments. The test results showed that the composition of the raw material mixture and the diameter of the mold had a significant effect on the characteristics of the biopelet. Overall, the biopellets have met SNI 8675: 2018 except for the levels of flying substances. The best biopelet was obtained in the composition treatment of 60% EFB and 40% Porang Flour Waste with a mold diameter of 6 millimeters with a density value of 0.98 g/cm3, moisture content 4.50%, ash content 4.58%, volatile matter 80,88%, fixed carbon is 14.55%, and calorific value is 23.90 MJ/kg
