Abstract

Radiografi merupakan alat diagnostic yang sangat penting dalam kedokteran gigi dan merupakan salah satu kunci kesuksesan diagnosis. Salah satu teknik radiografi yang paling sering digunakan yaitu teknik periapikal. Walaupun ukuran dari radiografi periapikal relatif kecil, pentingnya persepsi dan kebutuhan untuk interpretasi yang tepat dan akurat tetap sama. Beberapa penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesesuaian atau konsistensi dalam membaca radiograf kedokteran gigi hanya antara 60- 70%. Kesalahan dalam interpretasi dapat menjadi hal yang problematik dan kadang sering terwujud dalam bentuk salah dalam diagnosis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan lama studi terhadap tingkat ketepatan interpretasi radiograf periapikal mahasiswa sarjana FKG UB. Penelitian dilakukan melalui survey daring dengan teknik Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling yang disebarkan ke media sosial. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pengisian kuesioner untuk menilai tingkat ketepatan interpretasi radiograf periapikal mahasiswa sarjana FKG UB. Total 135 responden yang berpartisipasi mengisi kuesioner dengan rincian 63 orang mahasiswa angkatan 2019 dan 72 orang mahasiswa angkatan 2018. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata total skor interpretasi radiograf periapikal sebesar 26,28. Nilai tertinggi yang diraih adalah 30.00 dan nilai terendah yang diraih adalah 10.00. Hubungan lama studi terhadap ketepatan interpretasi radiograf periapikal mahasiswa sarjana FKG UB dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson. Hasil uji korelasi Pearson menunjukkan terdapat korelasi signifikan dan secara positif dengan skor signifikansi 0,000 (sig < 0,05). Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara lama studi terhadap ketepatan interpretasi radiograf periapikal mahasiswa sarjana FKG UB.

English Abstract

Radiography is a very important diagnostic tool in dentistry and is one of the keys to successful diagnosis. One of the most frequently used radiographic techniques is the periapical technique. Although the size of the periapical radiograph is relatively small, the importance of perception and the need for precise and accurate interpretation remain the same. Several studies show that the suitability or consistency in reading dental radiographs is only between 60-70%. Errors in interpretation can be problematic and sometimes manifest in incorrect diagnoses. This study aims to determine the relationship between length of study and the level of accuracy of interpretation of periapical radiographs of FKG UB undergraduate students. The research was conducted through an online survey using the Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling technique which was distributed to social media. This research was conducted by filling out a questionnaire to assess the level of accuracy of periapical radiograph interpretation of undergraduate students of dentistry at Brawijaya University. A total of 135 respondents who participated filled out the questionnaire with details of 63 students from the class of 2019 and 72 students from the class of 2018. The results showed that the average total score of periapical radiograph interpretation was 26.28. The highest score achieved was 30.00 and the lowest score achieved was 10.00. The relationship between study duration and accuracy of periapical radiograph interpretation of FKG UB undergraduate students was analyzed using the Pearson correlation test. The results of the Pearson correlation test showed that there was a significant and positive correlation with a significance score of 0.000 (sig < 0.05). Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the length of the study and the accuracy of interpretation of periapical radiographs of undergraduate students of dentistry at Brawijaya University.
