Abstract
Latar belakang: Indonesia merupakan negara ketiga dengan jumlah perokok terbesar di dunia setelah Cina dan India. Peningkatan konsumsi rokok berdampak pada makin tingginya beban penyakit akibat rokok dan bertambahnya angka kematian akibat rokok Merokok menjadi salah satu faktor risiko munculnya masalah pada rongga mulut, sehingga untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut dibutuhkan perawatan penunjang berupa penggunaan obat kumur. Kandungan pada obat kumur diharapkan dapat mengurangi masalah rongga mulut pada perokok. Tujuan: untuk menganalisis hubungan penggunaan obat kumur terhadap penyakit periodontal pada perokok. Metode: Metode yang digunakan PRISMA dengan hasil, terdapat 2.780 jurnal yang ditemukan dan ditemukan 10 jurnal yang sesuai dengan topik dan kriteria. Database yang digunakan untuk pencarian jurnal adalah google schoolar dan PubMed. Kesimpulan: Penggunaan obat kumur pada perokok dengan penyakit periodontal berupa gingivitis, necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis (NUG) dan periodontitis agresif menunjukkan hasil terjadi penurunan tidak signifikan pada penyakit periodontal berdasarkan skor Gingival Index (GI), Basic Periodontal Examination (BPE), dan Bleeding on Probing (BoP).
English Abstract
Background: Indonesia is the third country with the largest number of smokers in the world after China and India. Increased consumption of cigarettes has an impact on the increasing burden of diseases caused by cigarettes and the increasing death rate due to smoking cigarettes become one of the risk factors for the appearance of problems in the oral cavity, so to overcome the problem needed supporting treatment in the form of the use of mouthwash. The content of mouthwash is expected to reduce oral cavity problems in smokers. Method: The method used is PRISMA with the results, there are 2.780 journals found but only 10 journals that fit the topic and criteria. The database used for journal searches is google schoolar and PubMed. Purpose: to analyze the relationship of mouthwash use to periodontal disease in smokers. Conclusion: The effect of mouthwash use on smokers with periodontal disease showed a decrease in Gingival Index (GI), Basic Periodontal Examination (BPE), and Bleeding on Probing (BoP) scores, the decrease was not significant.
