Abstract
Latar Belakang: Pravalensi periodontitis di Indonesia mencapai 74,1%. Daun pare mengandung flavonoid. Flavonoid merupakan salah satu senyawa antibakteri pada daun pare (Momordica charantia L.). Kadar flavonoid dalam daun pare sebesar 2,87 % Daun pare (Momordica charantia L.) mengandung flavonoid jenis kathekin dan quercetin (Nagarani, 2013). Katekin terbukti dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Struktur kerangka katekin pada daun pare sebesar 123,9 ±14,7ab(mg/g Dry weight of samples). Oleh karena itu, adanya struktur katekin di senyawa flavonoid pada daun pare (Momordica charantia L.) diduga memiliki peluang dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans. Tujuan: Mengetahui peran flavonoid pada daun pare (Momordica charantia L) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans.Kesimpulan: Flavonoid khususnya katekin pada daun pare (Momordica charantia L.) dapat menghambat pertumbuhan Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans. Kemampuan senyawa flavonoid daun pare Momordica charantia L.) tergolong sedang.
English Abstract
Background: flavonoid is one of the antibacterial compounds on pare leaves (momordica charantia l). Flavonoid in pare leaves of 2.87 percent of pare (momordica charantia l) contains flavonoid types katekin and quercetin (nagarani, 2013). Katekin has been shown to retard the growth of bacteria in katekin-frame structure on pare leaves by 123.9 ±7ab(mg/g dry weight of samples). Hence, the presence of katekin structures in the flavonoid compound on the pare (momordica charantia l) is thought to have an opportunity to impede the growth of bacteria aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans. Purpose : knowing the role of flavonoid on pare (momordica charantia l) for the growth of bacteria aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans. Conclusion: flavonoid especially katekin on the pare leaf (momordica charantia l) can hinder the growth of aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans. The capacity of the flavonoid leaves pare momordica charantia l) is moderate.
