Abstract

Model gigi merupakan media yang seharusnya dapat mempresentasikan keterampilan klinik mahasiswa kedokteran gigi dalam melakukan preparasi gigi penyangga dari gigi tiruan cekat yang membutuhkan pengalaman sejak masa preklinik serta dukungan fasilitas media pelatihan yang memadai. Salah satu evaluasinya adalah sifat mekanik, yaitu nilai kekerasan dari model gigi tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi sifat mekanis model gigi berbahan self-cured acrylic dengan buatan pabrik dan enamel gigi sebagai media pembelajaran keterampilan klinis prostodonsia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan cross-sectional study dengan rancangan penelitian observasional analitik, melibatkan 3 kelompok sampel yaitu 10 model gigi berbahan self-cured acrylic, 10 model gigi buatan pabrik, dan 10 gigi elemen 44 yang dipreparasi pada bagian bukal hingga sesuai SOP standar alat kekerasan ASTM 384 hingga permukaan flat namun enamel yang tersisa tetap mampu menahan beban indentor microvickers. Spesimen yang telah siap diuji kekerasannya menggunakan Shimadzu microvickers dengan beban 100 gram selama 30 detik. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu nilai kekerasan model gigi berbahan self-cured acrylic memiliki rata-rata nilai kekerasan 18,129 VHN, model gigi buatan pabrik 83,175 VHN, dan enamel gigi 427,98 VHN. Hasil statistik Oneway Anova p = 0,000 < 0,05 menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara ketiga sampel. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah nilai kekerasan antara enamel gigi,model gigi buatan pabrik dan model gigi berbahan selfcured acrylic memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan.

English Abstract

Dental model is a medium that should be able to present clinical skills of dental students in preparing abutment teeth of fixed dentures. At which requires experience since pre clinical education with support of good training media facilities. One ofits evaluation is mechanical properties, which is the hardness value of dental model. This study aims to evaluate the mechanical properties of dental models from self-cured acrylic with prefabricated and tooth enamel as learning media for prosthodontic clinical skills. This study is a cross-sectional study approach with observational analytic research design, involving 3 sample groups, namely 10 self-cured acrylic dental models, 10 prefabricated dental models, and 10 teeth of element 44 prepared at buccal to flat section, which reduction is according to standard SOP of ASTM 384 hardness tool up to flat surface but remaining enamel still able to withstand the load of indenting micro vickers. Hardness of specimens were tested using Shimadzu microvickers with a load of 100 grams for 30 seconds. Results of this study are hardness values of dental models from self-cured acrylic have mean value of 18,129 VHN, hardness values of prefabricated tooth models 83,175 VHN and tooth enamel 427.98 VHN.Statistical result of Oneway Anova is p = 0,000 < 0.05 showed a significant difference between three samples. Conclusion of this study is hardness value between tooth enamel, prefabricated dental models and self-cured acrylic dental models have significant differences.
