Pengaruh Cangkang Kerang Darah (Anadara granosa) Terhadap Kedalaman Mikroporositas Enamel Gigi Sulung

Abstract

Salah satu masalah kesehatan mulut pada anak adalah karies pada gigi sulung. Salah satu upaya pencegahan karies adalah melakukan upaya remineralisasi gigi. Salah satu bahan alami yang dapat membantu proses remineralisasi adalah cangkang kerang darah yang mengandung kalsium sebesar 98,61%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan pengaruh cangkang kerang darah terhadap kedalaman mikroporositas enamel gigi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah true experimental randomized post test only controlled group design secara in vitro. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 25 sampel gigi insisivus sulung rahang bawah. Sampel dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok, kelompok (K+) direndam larutan demineralisasi selama 5 hari, kelompok (K-) direndam larutan aquadest, kelompok (P1) direndam larutan kalsium 1 mmol, kelompok (P2) direndam larutan kalsium 3 mmol, dan kelompok (P3) direndam larutan kalsium 5 mmol selama 14 hari. Setelah perendaman gigi sulung dilakukan uji kedalaman mikroporositas enamel gigi dengan menggunakan Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Hasil uji kedalaman mikroporositas enamel dianalisis menggunakan uji one way ANOVA. Dari hasil uji kedalaman mikroporositas enamel terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna (α ˂0.05) yaitu terdapat penurunan kedalaman mikroporositas enamel gigi pada setiap peningkatan konsentrasi kalsium cangkang kerang darah. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh cangkang kerang darah (Anadara granosa) terhadap kedalaman mikroporositas enamel gigi sulung.

English Abstract

One of the children’s oral health problems was caries in deciduous teeth. One of caries prevention efforts was to make an effort of remineralization of teeth. One of the natural resources that can help the remineralization process was blood clam shell that contains calcium as much as 98,61%. The aim of this study was to prove the effect of blood clam shells on the depth of the teeth enamel microporosity. This research was a true experimental randomized post test only controlled group design in vitro. A total of 25 samples of mandibular primary incisors. Samples were divided into 5 groups, group (K+) soaked in demineralization solution for 5 days, group (K-) soaked in aquadest solution, group (P1) soaked in 1 mmol calcium solution, group (P2) soaked in 3 mmol calcium solution, and group (P3) soaked in 5 mmol calcium solution for 14 days. After submerging decidous teeth, a microporosity depth test of the tooth enamel was performed using a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The results of the enamel microporosity depth test were analyzed using the one way ANOVA test. From the results of the enamel microporosity depth test there was a significant difference (α ˂0.05), namely that there was a decrease in the depth of the tooth enamel microporosity at each increase in the calcium concentration of the blood clam shell. The conclusion of this study was that there was an effect of blood clam shells (Anadara granosa) on the depth of microporosity of deciduous tooth enamel.
