Nurdin, Aina Aisyah Hasan and Dr. drg. Nur Permatasari,, MS (2020) Peran Daun Jambu Air (Syzygium aqueum) terhadap Penyembuhan Ulser Traumatik pada Mukosa Oral: tinjauan literatur. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
Background: Traumatic ulcers are ulcers caused by mechanical trauma, chemical irritation, iatrogenic, and physical trauma. The prevalence of traumatic ulcers in the oral cavity was 83.6%. Water Jambu leaves (Syzygium aqueum) contain chemical compounds of flavonoids, tannins, saponins, alkaloids, and polyphenols which are useful in the wound healing process. Objective: To determine the potential and mechanism of water guava leaves (Syzygium aqueum) in healing traumatic ulcers on the oral mucosa. Methods: Determining inclusion criteria, exclusion and keywords, literature searches from database electronic using the method Boolean Search based on inclusion criteria. Then do a screening and selection of journals for review. Results and Discussion: Based on the 28 articles analyzed, guava leaves do not have a toxicity effect. Water guava leaves contain chemical compounds such as flavonoids, tannins, saponins, alkaloids, and polyphenols. Flavonoids and alkaloids play a role in the proliferation of fibroblasts. Tannins act as astringents that can stop bleeding. Saponins play a role in fibroblast proliferation and angiogenesis. Polyphenols play a role in inhibiting cyclooxygenase-2. Conclusion: The content of water guava leaves (Syzygium aqueum) has the potential and an alleged mechanism of action in the healing process of traumatic ulcers.
