Lusianti, Afri and drg. Lalita El Milla,, M.Si (2021) Pengaruh Variasi pH Saliva terhadap Perbedaan Kckuatan Tekan Resin Modified Glass Ionomer Cement (RMGIC) dan Nano Ionomer. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
Background: RMGIC and Nano ionomer are restorative materials obtained from the development of GIC. Restorative materials that are in the oral cavity will always be in contact with saliva. The degree of saliva acidity (pH) can change according to the individual's circumstances. The compressive strength during the chewing process will always be accepted by the teeth and its restorative materials. Therefore, the restoration materials must have mechanical properties in the form of good compressive strength in order to withstand in the oral cavity. Purpose: This study aims to determine the influence of saliva pH variation towards compressive strength difference of RMGIC and nano ionomer. Methods: A laboratory experimental study with a post test only group design, as many as 24 samples were divided into 6 groups immersed in 20 ml of artificial saliva pH 5,5; 7; and 8 for 180 hours, that later on the compressive strength was measured by using Universal Testing Machine and followed up by data analysis. Results: The result of statistic test showed the value of sig = 0.000 (p<0.05), which means that there is a difference in the strength of the whole group. Conclusion: There is an influence of saliva pH variation towards compressive strength difference of RMGIC and nano ionomer, where the highest compressive strength is in the nano ionomer group immersed in artificial saliva pH 7 and the lowest is in the RMGIC group immersed in artificial saliva pH 8.
