Abstract
English Abstract
A screen printed carbon electrode (SPCE) based Pb2+ sensor has been developed using a kaolin-PbS membrane mixture. The aim of this study were to determine the effect of the mass ratio of kaolin: PbS on the sensitivity of the sensor. The membrane was made by mixing 0.1 grams of kaolin, and various of PbS at 0.02; 0.03 ; 0.04 ; 0.06 grams, and demineral water. The membrane was coated on the surface of a screen printed carbon electrode (SPCE) type of carbon electrode. The Pb2+ sensor test used a standard solution of Pb2+ in demineral water and in HNO3 10-3 M in a concentration range of 10- 8 – 10-1 M. The results showed that the membrane composition affected the sensitivity of the Pb2+ sensor. The best performance of the Pb2+ sensor was obtained at a mass ratio of 1:0.4 kaolin:PbS. The sensor has a sensitivity of 31.39 mV/decade in a concentration range of 5x10-4 – 10-2 M in HNO3, a response time of 60 seconds, and a detection limit of 5.24 x 10-4 M.
