The COVID-19 pandemic has caused clinical clerkship students to experience exposure to a new learning climate, causing students to be more susceptible to burnout syndrome. Burnout syndrome that occurs in clinical clerkship students can have a negative impact on competency assessment and performance to become a doctor, therefore this study was conducted to assess the level and pattern of burnout syndrome incidence and the factors that influence it in clinical clerkship students. A cross-sectional study was conducted on 139 students of medical professional education at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Brawijaya during the COVID-19 pandemic using a web-based questionnaire that included social-demographic criteria, Medical Student Stresor Questionnaire, and Maslach Burnout Inventory – Student Survey. The results of the burnout subscale scores were analyzed using a different test, while the chi-square test was used for interpretation. The incidence of bidimensional burnout was found in 18.7% of students, while the incidence of tridimensional burnout was found in 10.8% of students. There was also a significant correlation between age, gender, and specific stresors experienced by medical students with scores and interpretations of the burnout subscale, as well as the interpretation of burnout.
