Abstract

English Abstract

Carrot plants whose tubers are in the soil are susceptible to attack by Plant Pest Organisms (OPT). The pests that usually attack the wotel tubers are nematodes. Not only as a pest, there are some nematodes that are non-parasitic (free living) such as mononchus. Free-living plant non-parasitic nematodes are very important and beneficial in the decomposition of organic matter and recycling of nutrients in the soil. Knowing the amount / population in the soil can be done by taking soil samples. The purpose of taking soil samples is to represent land data. The sampling method for nematodes in the soil uses several methods such as zigzag, diagonal, random purposive, m-shape and damaged areas. In general, researchers apply a purposive random sampling method. It is necessary to test or study the five methods in order to find their effectiveness in order to save processing time (efficiency) in the field (land) and to accurately (effectively) collect data in the form of population / number of objects that the nematode researcher wants to observe. Soil sampling was carried out in farmers' land to be precise in Tulungrejo Village, Bumiaji District, Malang Regency. The number of land observed was 4 with 6 repetitions for each area. This study used a soil sample of 100 gr and 10 gr of root samples in each repetition using the whiteheadtray extraction method. The results obtained were 193 mononchus nematode populations, the diagonal method of the number of nematodes, 264 individuals, purposive random method; 511 tails, m-shape method; 413 tails and damaged area methods; 395 individuals. The total population of identified nematodes was 1,741. The researcher concluded that the purposive random sampling method was effective and efficient with a population mean of 85.16 individuals.
