Abstract

Tanah merupakan salah satu sumber daya yang berperan penting terhadap keberlangsungan hidup organisme. Fungsi tanah tidak hanya sebagai tempat bertumbuhnya tanaman, penyedia unsur hara, tetapi juga berfungsi sebagai salah satu bagian dari ekosistem. Peranan bahan organik dalam tanah sangat penting, disamping sebagai penyusun padatan (agregat) tanah, juga dapat mempengaruhi sifat-sifat fisik tanah serta meningkatkan kandungan hara tanah.penelitian ini bertujuan untuk Mengetahui pengaruh bahan organik tanah terhadap sifat fisik dan mekanik dari tanah liat. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan 5 perlakuan penambahan bahan organic yaitu 2%, 2.5%. 3%. 3.5%, dan 4%. Dilakukan 2 kali pengulangan dalam pengambilan data. Pengujian sifat fisik tanah dengan perlakuan variasi penambahan bahan organik didapatkan hasil pada parameter kadar air tanah nilai tertingi sebesar 17% pada variasi 3,5 dan 4%. Variasi 3,5 ,4% dan terendah 5 % pada varias 2.5 % Pada parameter Batas plastis nilai tertinggi variasi 4% sebesar 39%. dan terendah variasi 2% nilai batas plastis sebesar 29 % , Pada parameter Batas lekat tertinggi variasi 4% sebesar 32% dan terendah variasi 2% sebesar 13 %. Pada parameter Bullk density nilai tertinggi sebesar 0.99 gram/cm3 pada variasi 2% dan terendah 0.94 gram/cm3 pada varias 4%. Pada parameter porositas nilai tertinggi varias 4% sebesar 91.5 %i dan terendah. 2% sebesar 83.5%. Pengujian sifat mekanik tanah dengan perlakuan variasi penambahan bahan organik didapatkan hasil pada parameter tegangan geser nilai terendah pada perlakuan 4% (12 kPa) sedangkan nilai tertinggi pada perlakuan 2% (20 kPa). Perlakuan variasi penambahan bahan organik memiliki pengaruh yang berbeda pada setiap parameter. Pada parameter tegangan geser, hasil penelitian berbanding terbalik dengan konsentrasi bahan organik. Sedangkan pada parameter porositas, kadar air, batas lekat, dan batas plastis, hasil penelitian berbanding lurus dengan konsentrasi bahan organik

English Abstract

Soil is a resource that plays an important role in the survival of organisms. The function of the soil is not only as a place for plants to grow, as a provider of nutrients, but also as a part of the ecosystem. The role of organic matter in the soil is very important, besides being a constituent of soil solids (aggregate), it can also affect the physical properties of the soil and increase the nutrient content of the soil. This study aims to determine the effect of soil organic matter on the physical and mechanical properties of clay. In this study using 5 treatments of addition of organic matter, namely 2%, 2.5%. 3%. 3.5%, and 4%. Performed 2 repetitions in data collection. Testing the physical properties of the soil with the addition of organic matter variation treatment showed that the highest value of the soil moisture content parameter was 17% at a variation of 3.5 and 4%. The variation is 3.5,4% and the lowest is 5% at the 2.5% variation. In the plastic limit parameter, the highest value of variation is 4%, which is 39%. and the lowest variation is 2%, the plastic limit value is 29%. In the parameter of the adhesive limit the highest variation is 4% by 32% and the lowest variation is 2% by 13%. In the Bullk density parameter, the highest value is 0.99 gram/cm3 at 2% variation and the lowest is 0.94 gram/cm3 at 4% variation. In the porosity parameter, the highest value of 4% variance is 91.5 %i and the lowest. 2% of 83.5%. Testing the mechanical properties of the soil with the addition of organic matter variations showed that the shear stress parameter was the lowest value at 4% treatment (12 kPa) while the highest value was at 2% treatment (20 kPa). The treatment of variations in the addition of organic matter has a different effect on each parameter. In the shear stress parameter, the research results are inversely proportional to the concentration of organic matter. While the parameters of porosity, water content, adhesive limit, and plastic limit, the results of the study are directly proportional to the concentration of organic matter.
