Abstract

Bahan organik merupakan faktor penting dalam tanah, bahan organik tanah memegang peranan penting dalam meningkatkan dan mempertahankan kesuburan kimia, fisika dan fisiko-kimia serta biologi tanah, yang akan menentukan produktivitas tanaman dan keberlanjutan penggunaan lahan untuk pertanian. Penambahan bahan organik dapat memperbaiki keadaan struktur pada tanah, aerasi, kapasitas menahan air tanah, mempengaruhi atau mengatur keadaan temperatur tanah dan menyediakan suatu zat hasil perombakan yang dapat membantu pertumbuhan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi bahan organik terhadap sifat fisika dan sifat mekanik tanah lempung berliat. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan 5 taraf perlakuan yaitu A1=2,0% bahan organik, A2=2,5% bahan organik, A3=3,0% bahan organik, A4=3,5% bahan organik, dan A5=4,0% bahan organik dan dilakukan sebanyak 2 ulangan. Parameter yang diamati yaitu bulk density, porositas, kadar air tanah, batas lekat, batas plastis, dan tegangan geser. Pada parameter bulk density nilai terendah pada perlakuan A5 (1.2g/cm3) sedangkan nilai tertinggi pada perlakuan A1 (1.245g/cm3). Pada parameter porositas nilai tertinggi pada perlakuan A1 (94%) sedangkan nilai terendah pada perlakuan A5 (81%). Pada parameter kadar air nilai terendah pada perlakuan A1 (6,38%) sedangkan nilai tertinggi pada perlakuan A5 (19.796%). Pada parameter batas lekat nilai tertinggi pada perlakuan A1 (24,6%) sedangkan nilai terendah pada perlakuan A5 (16,6%). Pada parameter batas plastis nilai terendah pada perlakuan A1 (23,31%) sedangkan nilai terendah pada perlakuan A5 (17,915%). Pada parameter tegangan geser nilai terendah pada perlakuan A5 (6 kPa) sedangkan nilai tertinggi pada perlakuan A1 (13 kPa). Tegangan geser, Porositas, Batas Lekat, Batas Plastis hasil penelitian berbanding terbalik dengan konsentrasi bahan organik. Sedangkan pada parameter kadar air hasil penelitian berbanding lurus dengan konsentrasi bahan organik

English Abstract

Organic matter is an important factor in soil, soil organic matter plays an important role in increasing and maintaining chemical, physical and physico-chemical and biological soil fertility, which will determine crop productivity and sustainable use of land for agriculture. The addition of organic matter can improve soil structure, aeration, soil water holding capacity, affect or regulate soil temperature conditions and provide a substance that results from overhaul that can help growth. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in organic matter on the physical and mechanical properties of clayey clay. In this study using 5 levels of treatment, namely A1 = 2.0% organic matter, A2 = 2.5% organic matter, A3 = 3.0% organic matter, A4 = 3.5% organic matter, and A5 = 4.0 % organic matter and carried out as much as 2 replications. Parameters observed were bulk density, porosity, soil moisture content, bond limit, plastic limit, and shear stress. In the bulk density parameter the lowest value was in treatment A5 (1.2g/cm3) while the highest value was in treatment A1 (1,245g/cm3). In the porosity parameter, the highest value was in treatment A1 (94%) while the lowest value was in treatment A5 (81%). In the water content parameter, the lowest value was in treatment A1 (6.38%) while the highest value was in treatment A5 (19.796%). In the attachment limit parameter, the highest value was in treatment A1 (24.6%) while the lowest value was in treatment A5 (16.6%). In the plastic limit parameter, the lowest value was in treatment A1 (23.31%) while the lowest value was in treatment A5 (17.915%). In the shear stress parameter the lowest value is in treatment A5 (6 kPa) while the highest value is in treatment A1 (13 kPa). Shear stress, porosity, adhesive limit, plastic limit of the research results are inversely proportional to the concentration of organic matter. Meanwhile, the water content parameter of the research results is directly proportional to the concentration of organic matter
