Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis : (1) pengaruh pertumbuhan ekonomi, upah dan tingkat pendidikan terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja pada kelompok daerah pengangguran rendah; (2) pengaruh pertumbuhan ekonomi, upah dan tingkat pendidikan terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja pada kelompok daerah pengangguran tinggi; (3) elastisitas sektoral pada kelompok daerah pengangguran rendah dan tinggi. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah persamaan regresi data panel dengan model Random Effect pendekatan Generalized least Square (GLS) dan Elastisitas dengan menggunakan data panel terhadap 24 kabupaten/kota di Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan selama lima tahun. Temuan dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) upah berpengaruh positif dan signifikan, namun tingkat pendidikan berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja pada kelompok daerah pengangguran rendah. (2) pertumbuhan ekonomi dan tingkat pendidikan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja pada kelompok daerah pengangguran tinggi. (3) elastisitas terbesar adalah sektor pertanian yang bersifat elastis pada kelompok daerah pengangguran rendah dan sektor perdagangan yang bersifat elastis pada kelompok daerah pengangguran tinggi.
English Abstract
This study aims to analyze (1) the effect of economic growth, wage, and education level on workforce absorption in the regional group of low unemployment; (2) the influence of economic growth, wage, and education level on employment absorption in the regional group of high unemployment; (3) sectoral elasticity of workforce in regional groups of low and high unemployment. This research uses Panel Regression of Random Effect Model with Generalized least Square (GLS) Approach and Elasticity in five-year panel data from 24 regencies and cities in South Sulawesi. The results show that (1) wage has a positive and significant influence, but the level of education has a negative and significant influence, on workforce absorption in the regional group of low unemployment; (2) economic growth and educational level have a positive and significant influence on workforce absorption in the regional group of high unemployment; and (3) the largest workforce elasticity is in agricultural sector, which is elastic in the regional group of low unemployment, and in trade sector, which is elastic in the regional group of high unemployment.
