Abstract

English Abstract

Vaccination efforts carried out by the Indonesian government get a variety of responses from the public, both positive and negative. The public considers that vaccination has not been proven to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and is affected by hoax (fake) news related to the vaccination that will be carried out. Based on these facts, the education and socialization related to vaccination is important so that the public is not anxious and worried to do vaccinations. This research aimed to analyze the influence of the Covid-19 vaccine education through audiovisual media on the anxiety levels of prospective vaccination participants. The research method used true experimental designed with the Pre-test and Posttest Design. It used probability sampling with simple random sampling approach. The independent variable was the education of the Covid-19 vaccine through audiovisual media. The dependent variable was the anxiety level of prospective vaccination participants. The research instruments were audiovisual media and Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety (HRS-A) questionnaire through a website distributed through whatsApp.The results showed that there was a significant difference in the post-test score between respondents in the control group (without treatment) (18.64±5.00) and the intervention group (Covid-19 vaccine education treatment through audiovisual media) (16.91±4.49). Respondents who were given the Covid-19 vaccine education treatment through audiovisual media (intervention group) showed a decrease in anxiety compared to the control group. The conclusion showed that there was an influence of audiovisual Covid-19 vaccine education in reducing the anxiety levels of prospective vaccination participants.
