Abstract

Ayam Jawa Super merupakan persilangan ayam kampung jantan dengan ayam ras petelur betina yang memiliki pertumbuhan yang cepat yaitu pada umur 50-60 hari sudah dapat dipanen, sehingga dapat menjadi solusi dalam memenuhi permintaan akan protein hewani yang semakin meningkat. Pakan merupakan faktor penting dalam usaha peternakan karena 60-70% dari total biaya produksi adalah pakan. Namun, sejauh ini kebutuhan nutrisi untuk ayam Jawa Super belum ada standarnya, sehingga untuk menekan biaya produksi adalah membuat formulasi pakan menggunakan bahan pakan yang murah dan mudah ditemukan serta dengan memperhatikan kandungan nutrisinya, salah satunya yaitu protein. Protein pada pakan memiliki peran yang sangat penting untuk meningkatkan bobot badan dan efisiensi konsumsi pakan sehingga dapat meningkatkan berat karkas,

English Abstract

The research was conducted to determine the effect of feed protein level on carcass weight, abdomen fat percentage and Income Over Feed Cost(IOFC) of male Super Java chicken on 3-8 weeks. The material used were 168 male Super Java chick at 3 weeks old with average body weight 154±9.74 gram, the coefficient of variant 5.67% and give treatment at 3 until 8 weeks. The method used in this research was Completely Randomized Design (CDR) with 4 treatments and 6 replications, each replication consisted of 7 male Super Java chick. The treatment consisted of P1 (feeding with protein level 14%), P2 (feeding with protein level 16%), P3 (feeding with protein level 18%) and P4 (feeding with protein level 20%). The data were analyzed using Analising of Variance (ANOVA) and if the result show significantly different than continued by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The variables observed were carcass weight, abdomen fat percentage and Income Over Feed Cost(IOFC). The result showed that with feed protein level significant different can increase carcass weight, decrease abdomen fat percentage and generate higher Income Over Feed Cost(IOFC). It can be concluded that the best use of feed protein level is P4 with 20% protein level with carcass weight of 512±19,51gram/chicken, abdomen fat percentage of 0,2329±0,148%, dan Income Over Feed Cost(IOFC) of Rp. 14.169,71±717,74 /chicken.
