Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi adanya permasalahan yang dialami siswa yaitu siswa kurang mampu membedakan struktur teks ulasan yang terdiri atas orientasi, tafsiran, evaluasi, dan rangkuman, membutuhkan waktu lama, pembelajaran masih bersifat textbook, dan model pembelajaran yang digunakan kurang bervariasi, sehingga menyebabkan proses pembelajaran pasif dan membosankan. Model concept sentence dipilih sebagai alternatif untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Dalam penelitian ini penulis akan menjawab rumusan masalah yaitu (1) bagaimana penerapan model concept sentence dalam pembelajaran menyusun teks ulasan pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Batu, (2) bagaimana peningkatan kemampuan menyusun teks ulasan melalui model concept sentence pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Batu. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 4 Batu dengan subjek penelitian kelas VIII-G. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menyusun teks ulasan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Batu dengan menggunakan model concept sentence. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan penilaian aktivitas guru pada siklus I pertemuan I kategori sangat baik 0,00%, baik 75%, cukup 8,33%, kurang 16,67%. Siklus I pertemuan II kategori sangat baik 16,67%, baik 79,17%, cukup 0,00%, kurang 4,17%. Pada siklus II pertemuan I penilaian aktivitas guru kategori sangat baik 58,33%, baik 41,67%, cukup 0,00%, kurang 0,00%. Siklus II pertemuan II kategori sangat baik 75%, baik 25%, cukup 0,00%, kurang 0,00%. Hasil penilaian aktivitas siswa pada siklus I pertemuan I pada kategori sangat baik 0,00%, baik 54,17%, cukup 29,17%, kurang 16,67%. Siklus I pertemuan II kategori sangat baik 16,67%, baik 75%, cukup 8,33%, kurang 4,17%. Siklus II pertemuan I penilaian aktivitas siswa pada kategori sangat baik 37,5%, baik 62,5%, cukup 0,00%, kurang 0,00%. Siklus II pertemuan II kategori sangat baik 58,33%, baik 41,67%, cukup 0,00%, kurang 0,00%. Nilai hasil siswa dalam menyusun teks ulasan melalui model concept sentence mengalami peningkatan. Nilai rata-rata tahap prasiklus 65,97, pada siklus pertama nilai rata-rata menjadi 70,86 dari 13 siswa tuntas KKM dan 16 siswa belum tuntas KKM dengan persentase ketuntasan 44,82%. Pada siklus kedua rata-rata nilai siswa menjadi 88,21 dari 28 siswa tuntas KKM dengan persentase kelulusan 100%.

English Abstract

This research is based on the problem experienced by the students that are poor to distinguish the structure of review text which consists of orientation, interpretation, evaluation, and summary need a long time, the learning process still tends to textbook, the learning model is less varied, causing the process Passive and boring learning. Based on the problem The concept sentence model was chosen as an alternative to solve the problems that occur by students. In this research, the writer will solve the problem formulation that is (1) how the application of concept sentence model in learning to compile the text of the students' grade VIII SMP 4 Batu, (2) how to improve the ability to compose the text of the review through the concept of sentence model for the students of grade VIII SMP Negeri 4 Batu. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR). This research was conducted in SMP Negeri 4 Batu with subject of class VII-G. The purpose of this research is to improve the ability to compile text of student’s grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 4 Batu using concept sentence model. The results of this study indicate the teacher activity in the first cycle of meeting I that category 0,00% excellent, 75% good, 8,33% satisfactory, 16,67% poor, first cycle of meeting II which category 16,67% excellent, 79,17% good, 0,00% satisfactory, 4,17% poor. In Second cycle of meeting I , the teacher activity which category 58,33% excellent, 41,67% good, 0,00% satisfactory, 0,00% poor. Seond cycle of meeting II which category 75% excellent, 25% good, 0,00% satisfactory, 0,00% poor. The result of assessment of student activity on first cycle of meeting I which category 0,00% exellent, 54,17% good, 29,17% satisfactory, 16,67% poor, first cycle of meeting II which category 16,67% excellent, 75% good, 8,33% satisfactory, 4,17% poor, second cycle of meeting I student activity apprisial on excellent category 37,5%, 62,5% good, 0,00% satisfactory, 0,00% poor. Second cycle of meeting II which category 58,33% excellent, 41,67% good, 0,00% satisfactory, 0,00% poor. The value of student results in compiling the review text through the concept of sentence model has increased. The average value of pre-cycle 65,97, in first cycle the average score becomes 70.86 out of 13 students complete the KKM and 16 students have not complete the KKM with percentage of 55,82% completeness. In the second cycle the average student score beomes 88.21 out of 28 students complete the KKM with percentage 100% completeness.
