Abstract
Fasciolosis disebabkan oleh cacing pipih Fasciola hepatica dan Fasciola gigantica. Salah satu teknik deteksi adanya Fasciola sp. menggunakan feses adalah metode sedimentasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sensitivitas modifikasi metode sedimentasi dengan conical flask sebagai alternatif metode sedimentasi untuk mendeteksi telur Fasciola sp. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan total 80 sampel sapi yang dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok berdasarkan konsentrasi telur Fasciola sp., yaitu 5, 15, 15, dan 50 EPG. Sensitivitas modifikasi metode sedimentasi dengan conical flask dihitung menggunakan rumus sensitivitas pada perangkat lunak Microsoft Excel. Hasil pada penelitian ini menunjukkan sensitivitas modifikasi metode dengan conical flask sebesar 15% pada konsentrasi 5 EPG, 35% pada konsentrasi 15 EPG, dan 100% pada konsentrasi 25 EPG dan 50 EPG. Sensitivitas modifikasi metode dengan conical flask dapat digunakan untuk mendeteksi adanya infeksi Fasciola sp. pada infeksi ringan dengan sensitivitas 15%, infeksi sedang 35%-100% dan infeksi berat 100%. English Abstract
Fasciolosis is caused by the flatworms Fasciola hepatica and Fasciola gigantica. One of the detection techniques for the existence of Fasciola sp. using feces is a sedimentation method. This study aims to see the sensitivity of the modification of the sedimentation method with a conical flask as an alternative to the sedimentation method to wait for Fasciola sp. Eggs. The study used a completely randomized design with a total of 80 cattle samples divided into four groups based on egg concentrations of Fasciola sp., Namely 5, 15, 15, and 50 EPG. The sensitivity of the sedimentation modified method with a conical flask calculated using the sensitivity formula in Microsoft Excel software. The results in this study sensitivity of modification method with a conical flask of 15% at a concentration of 5 EPG, 35% at a concentration of 15 EPG, and 100% at a concentration of 25 EPG and 50 EPG. The sensitivity modification method with conical flask can be used to investigate Fasciola sp. in mild infections with a sensitivity of 15%, moderate infections 35%-100%, and severe infections 100%.
