Abstract

Latar Belakang: Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) merupakan strain bakteri patogen dari golongan Staphylococcus aureus yang resisten ter-hadap metisilin dan hampir semua antibiotika golongan β-laktam. Daun alpukat (Persea americana Mill) termasuk dalam salah satu tumbuhan tradisional yang dapat dijadikan sebagai pengobatan tambahan terhadap infeksi MRSA karena memiliki kandungan senyawa aktif yang dapat dijadikan sebagai senyawa anti-mikroba dalam melawan pertumbuhan MRSA. Tujuan: menganalisis pengaruh senyawa antimikroba dari ekstrak daun alpukat ataupun bagian tumbuhan lain yang mempunyai kandungan fitokimia yang sama dengan daun alpukat dalam melawan pertumbuhan bakteri MRSA secara in vitro berdasarkan hasil studi liter-atur. Metode: Literature review. Data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder me-lalui pencarian jurnal bereputasi menggunakan database ProQuest, Scopus, Else-vier, Springer, Wiley Online Library, Science Direct, PubMed, Research Gate, Sage, Google Scholar, Portal garuda Dikti ditelusuri untuk mencari literatur tentang efektivitas ekstrak daun alpukat terhadap MRSA yang diterbitkan pada 2010-2020. Analisis hasil penelitian menggunakan metode PICO-T. Hasil: Secara kese-luruhan terdapat sepuluh jurnal yang dianalisis. Terdapat beberapa intervensi di-antaranya yaitu analisis fitokimia, uji antimikroba, uji sensitivitas antibiotika dan melihat pengaruhnya pada beberapa bakteri patogen salah satunya MRSA. Pem-berian ekstrak dibuktikan mampu mempengaruhi pertumbuhan bakteri patogen. Kesimpulan: Terdapat pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun alpukat (Persea amer-icana Mill) terhadap penghambatan pertumbuhan bakteri MRSA. Akan tetapi, bila ekstrak daun alpukat dikombinasikan dengan antibiotik tertentu hasilnya menun-jukkan lebih efektif.

English Abstract

Background: Methicillin-resistant Staphyloccus aureus (MRSA) is a pathogenic bacterial strain from the Staphylococcus aureus group that is resistant to methicillin and almost all β-lactam antibiotics. Avocado leaves (Persea americana Mill) are include in one of the traditional plants that can be used as an additional treatment for MRSA infections because the contain active compounds that can be used as an antimicrobial compounds against MRSA growth. Purpose: to analyze the effect of antimicrobial compounds from avocado leaf extract or other plant parts that con-tain the same phytochemicals as avocado leaves in fighting the growth of MRSA bacteria in vitro based on the results of a literature study. Method: literature review. The data used are secondary data through a search for reputable journals using the ProQuest, Scopus, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley Online Library, Science Direct, PubMed, Research Gate, Sage, Google Scholar, Portal garuda Dikti, search for literature on the effectiveness of avocado leaf extracts against MRSA that pub-lished in 2010-2020. Analysis of research results using the PICO-T method. Re-sults: overall, there were ten journals analyzed. There were several interventions including phytochemical analysis, antimicrobial test, antibiotic sensitivity test and seeing its effect on several pathogenic bacteria, one of which was MRSA. The extract has been proven to be able to influence the growth of pathogenic bacteria. Conclusion: there is an effect of giving avocado leaf extract (Persea americana Mill) on the inhibition of MRSA bacterial growth. However, when the avocado leaf extract is combined with certain antibiotics the results are more effective.
