Abstract
Penelitian ini menganalisi Proses Bermukim buruh konveksi dalam memanfaatkan kondisi hunian di kawasan Gang Venus, Kecamatan Tambora, Jakarta Barat. Tujuan dari penilitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis proses bermukim pada rumah konveksi di Gang Venus karena adanya aktivitas yang dijalankan oleh buruh konveksi di dalam rumah. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Proses bermukim John F Turner sebagai landasan analisis, mengenai proses bermukim buruh konveksi di dalam rumah konveksi melalui serangkaian aktivitas dan keputusan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa proses bermukim yang dilakukan oleh buruh konveksi berada dalam rumah yang bukan miliknya. Dalam melakukan proses bermukim, buruh konveksi menggunakan kesempatan dan peluang yang diberikan oleh pemilik usaha konveksi dalam melakukan aktivitas dan juga mengambil keputusan terhadap rumah konveksi. Pada proses bermukim yang dijalankan selama tinggal di dalam rumah konveksi di Gang Venus terdapat keuntungan yang dicapai oleh buruh konveksi. Sebab rumah dilihat bukan hanya dari segi fisik, akan tetapi serangakaian aktivitas dalam pengelolaan rumah yang dilakukan oleh penghuni rumah. Tujuannya adalah meraih keuntungan baik segi ekonomi dan sosial yang dicapai oleh para buruh konveksi sebagai bentuk usaha dalam melakukan proses bermukim di Gang Venus.
English Abstract
This study analyzes the process of settling convection laborers to take advantage of living conditions in the Venus Alley, Tambora District, West Jakarta. The purpose of this study is to analyze the process of settling the convection house in the Venus Alley because of the activities are run on the convection house. This study uses the process of settling theory by John f Turner as a basis for analysis, regarding for the process of settling the convection laborers into the home convection through a series of activities and decisions. This study uses qualitative research method with case studies approach . The result of this study explained, that the process of settling a convection laborers was in a house that are not theirs. In carrying out the process of living, the convection laborers use the opportunities and possibilities by the owners of the convection business and also make decisions on the convection house. In the process of living in the convection house in the Venus Alley, there is an advantage that the convection laborers have accomplished. Since the house is not regarded as its real function, but in a raid of activities carried out by the householder. The goals are to get both economic and social benefits achieved by convection workers as a form of effort in the process of living in the Venus Alley
