Abstract
Menurut Jatim Times yang dipublikasikan pada tanggal 21 Juli 2020 volume sampah di Malang turun hingga 10% yang diakibatkan oleh pandemi Covid-19. Begitu juga jumlah sampah di Universitas Brawijaya yang mengalami penurunan yang cukup signifikan. Pengambilan sampel dilaksanakan selama 10 hari yang meliputi 2 pekan, dimana pekan pertama dilakukan pada tanggal 1 Februari 2021 hingga 5 Februari 2021, dan pekan kedua dilakukan pada 8 Februari 2021 hingga 13 Februari 2021 (12 Februari 2021 libur). Setelah dilakukan pengambilan sampel, diketahui jumlah massa sampah di Universitas Brawijaya turun sebesar 17,9% dimana total massa sampah sebelum pandemi mencapai 50000 kg per hari dan pada saat pandemi Covid-19 berlangsung jumlah total massa sampah rata-rata perhari sebesar 8955,8 kg. Berdasarkan jumlah tersebut, dilakukan beberapa perhitungan untuk mengidentifikasi sampah yang ada di Universitas Brawijaya. Adapun untuk nilai rata-rata berat jenis limbah padat adalah sebesar 273,129 kg/m3. Setelah diketahui berat jenis, selanjutnya dilakukan perhitungan timbulan limbah padat denga rata-rata nilai timbulan sebesar 0,0071 kg.orang/hari. Selain itu, dilakukan juga pemilahan sampah dimana massa sampah yang disampling harus memenuhi 91-136 kg berdasarkan ASTM D 5231-92 tentang Standard Test Method for Determination of the Composition of Unprocessed Municipal Solid Waste. Melalui pemilahan tersebut didapatkan nilai, dimana rata-rata komposisi limbah padat selama 10 hari adalah sampah sisa makanan vii sebesar 0,244%, sampah sayuran 0%, sampah kebun bernilai 96,37%, sampah plastik bernilai 1,089%, sampah kertas bernilai 0,407%, sampah kardus bernilai 1,889%, dan terakhir sampah masker bernilai 0%. Terkait dengan jenis limbah padat, Komposisi limbah padat anorganik sebelum pandemi memiliki jenis yang lebih banyak dan memiliki jumlah dan volume yang lebih besar. Limbah padat yang mengalami peningkatan jumlah massa adalah jenis organik, dan limbah padat anorganik mengalami penurunan secara signifikan.
English Abstract
Based on data from Jatim Times, published on July 21, 2020, the volume of solid waste in Malang fell by 10% as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Likewise, the amount of solid waste in Brawijaya University has decreased significantly. Sampling was carried out for 10 days covering 2 weeks, where the first week was carried out on February 1, 2021 to February 5, 2021, and the second week was carried out on February 8, 2021 to February 13, 2021 (which is February 12, 2021 was closed). After sampling, the total mass of solid waste in Brawijaya University decreased by 17.9%, where the total mass of solid waste before the pandemic reached 50000 kg per day and during the Covid-19 pandemic the total mass of waste per day was 8955,8 on average. Based on this amount, several calculations were carried out to identify solid waste in Brawijaya University. As for the average density value of solid waste is 273.129 kg/m3. After knowing the density, then the calculation of solid waste generation is carried out with an average generation value of 6.986 kg.person/day. In addition, waste segregation is also carried out where the mass of the sampled waste must meet 91-136 kg based on ASTM D 5231-92 concerning the Standard Test Method for Determination of the Composition of Unprocessed Municipal Solid Waste. Through this sorting, the value is obtained, where the average composition of solid waste for 10 days of food waste is 0.244%, vegetable waste is 0%, ix garden waste is 96.37%, plastic waste is 1.089%, paper waste is 0.407%, cardboard waste is 1.889%, and mask waste is 0%. The composition of anorganic solid waste before the pandemic had more types and had a larger amount and volume. Solid waste that has increased in mass is organic, and inorganic solid waste has decreased significantly.
