Darmawan, Ahmad Raihan (2021) Evaluasi Kinerja Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah Inkubator Bisnis Permata Bunda Kota Bontang. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
Permata Bunda Business Incubator (Inbis) is an entrepreneurial building complex for people with disabilities in the city of Bontang, East Kalimantan. Inbis Permata Bunda has its own domestic IPAL system to treat domestic waste generated from the building complex. The IPAL Inbis Permata Bunda project was designed and collaborated with PT. Pupuk Kaltim in its CSR work program for environmental improvement. The IPAL at Inbis Permata Bunda was only completed in 2019, and undergoes throguh redesign in 2020. IPAL Inbis Permata Bunda has 6 processing units. The first unit is the filtration unit. This filter consists of sand, palm fiber, stone and charcoal. The second unit is the initial settling basin. The third unit is an anaerobic biofilter reactor unit. The fourth unit is an aerobic biofilter reactor unit which is equipped with an acreation process using an air blower. The fifth unit of the settling basin functions to separate or settle suspended solids (TSS) in the waste water so that the IPAL processed water becomes clear. The sixth unit is a disposal basin to collect waste before it is discharged into water bodies. This WWTP has just been through redesigning, as the first design of the WWTP is not working properly and the effluent when tested by the lab is still not in accordance with the predetermined quality standards. Therefore, it is necessary to test the efficiency of the newly redesigned WWTP in order to ensure that this new WWTP's performance is back to optimal and in accordance with the standards. The aim of this research is to inventorized wastewater source, evaluate the performance of the WWTP, and conduct a design review to provide recommendations for the Inbis Permata Bunda WWTP. The research method used is a formative evaluative research method. The research was conducted from November 2020 to February 2021. The performance evaluation of WWTP is based on an inventory of wastewater sources, evaluation of treatment processes, and evaluation of wastewater outlets. Grab Sampling method is used to obtain water sample in the WWTP. Laboratory tests are carried out to obtain data and then the performance calculations will be carried out to evaluate the WWTP. Performance calculations will be compared with reference design standards for each unit. The parameters used as references are pH, BOD, COD, TSS. Fe, and Pb. The results showed that the average inlet discharge was 1.65 m3 / day and the peak discharge was 2 m3 / day. Filtration bath with removal efficiency of 13.8% BOD, COD with 77% removal efficiency, 34% TSS, 52% Fe, and 0% Pb. The first settling basin with removal efficiency of -5% BOD, -4% COD, 28% TSS, 7.4% Fe, and 0% Pb. Anaerobic biofilter tank with removal efficiency of 4% BOD, 10% COD, -6% TSS, 21% Fe, 0% Pb. Aeration bath with removal efficiency of 56% BOD, 70% COD, 81% TSS, 0.6% Fe, 0% Pb.Settling bath 2 with removal efficiency of 61% BOD, 72% COD, 69% TSS, 33% Fe, 0% Pb. The waste water outlet produced from IPAL Inbis Permata Bunda is in accordance with the quality standards of the Permen LH No. 68 of 2016. Overall the performance of WWTP is still running well but in terms of efficiency, processing time is still too long due to too small discharge. Apart from that, there are still leaks in several processing tanks.
