Abstract

Global Positioning System (GPS) adalah sistem untuk menentukan letak di permukaan bumi dengan bantuan penyelarasan (synchronization) sinyal satelit. Sistem ini menggunakan 24 satelit yang mengirimkan sinyal gelombang mikro ke Bumi. Sinyal ini diterima oleh alat penerima di permukaan, dan digunakan untuk menentukan posisi, kecepatan, arah, dan waktu. Koordinat hasil keluaran GPS U-blox Neo 6M dan koordinat lokasi yang mendekati posisi aslinya dengan berdasar pada GPS smartphone akan dimasukkan ke persamaan Great Circle Distance untuk menghitung perbedaannya(meter) sehingga bisa ditarik kesimpulan ketidakakuratan dari GPS U-blox Neo6M. Metode Great Circle Distance adalah suatu metode untuk mencari jarak terdekat antara dua titik di permukaan bumi. Rata-rata tingkat akurasi dari keluaran GPS U-blox Neo 6M yaitu akurat sampai 35,316 meter.

English Abstract

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a system for determining the position on the earth’s surface with the help of satellite signal synchronization. This system uses 24 satellites that send microwave signals to Earth. This signal is received by the receiver on the surface, and is used to determine position, speed, direction and time. The coordinates of the Ublox Neo6M GPS output and location coordinates that are close to the original position based on the smartphone GPS will be entered into the Great Circle Distance equation to calculate the difference (meter) so that conclusions can be drawn from the Ublox Neo-6M GPS. The Great Circle Distance method is a method for finding the closest distance between two points on the earth's surface. By using the Great-Circle Distance method, errors or inaccuracies in reading coordinates by GPS Ublox Neo-6M can be seen in meters and the way to analyze it also has several requirements, namely having a GPS / other device with a higher accuracy level so that it can be used as a benchmark, coordinate data from the reference GPS and GPS Ublox Neo-6M compared so that the difference is visible. The average accurasy rate of the Ublox 6-M GPS output is accurate up to 35,316 meters.
