Abstract
Sampah plastik di lingkungan yang digunakan di kehidupan sehari-hari yang berasal dari pertanian, industry, kegiatan rumah tangga akan meningkatkan pencemaran mikroplastik di sungai Metro. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui jenis, kelimpahan dan sumber mikroplastik di sungai Metro Malang. Tahapan penelitian yaitu penyaringan sampel, pengeringan sampel, Wet Peroxide Oxidation (WPO) dengan 20 mL larutan Fe (II) 0.05 M, larutan H2O2 20 mL dan NaCl 6 gram per 20 mL sampel, density separator dan pengamatan dengan mikroskop Olympus SZX 16. Mikroplastik yang ditemukan pada hulu, tengah dan hilir paling tinggi yaitu jenis fiber, kemudian film dan fragmen. Warna mikroplastik paling dominan pada 3 titik sampel yaitu warna bening. Ukuran mikroplastik 595 μm ditemukan 484 partikel, ukuran 250 μm 569 partikel, ukuran 177 μm 657 partikel. Kelimpahan jenis fiber paling tinngi pada hilir dan kelimpahan jenis film fragmen paling tinggi pada tengah sungai. Beban pencemar mikroplastik jenis fiber, film dan fragmen paling tinggi ditemukan pada bagian hilir dan terendah pada bagian hulu. Pada hilir beban pencemar mikroplastik semakin tinggi. Semakin luasnya catchment area dan tata guna lahan maka semakin meningkatkan adanya kelimpahan dan beban pencemar mikroplastik.
English Abstract
Plastic waste in the environment that is used in everyday life from agriculture, industry, household activities will increase microplastic pollution in the Metro river. The purpose of this study was to determine the type, abundance and source of microplastics in the Metro Malang river. The research stages are sample filtering, sample drying, Wet Peroxide Oxidation with 20 mL of 0.05 M Fe (II) solution, 20 mL H2O2 solution and 6 grams of NaCl per 20 mL sample, density separator and observation with microscope. Microplastics The highest found in upstream, middle and downstream are fiber types, then films and fragments. The most dominant microplastic color at 3 sample points, namely clear color. Microplastic size 595 m found 484 particles, size 250 m 569 particles, size 177 m 657 particles. The abundance of fiber species is highest in the downstream and the highest abundance of film fragments is in the middle of the river. The highest microplastic pollutant load of fiber, film and fragments was found in the downstream and the lowest in the upstream. Downstream the microplastic pollutant load is getting higher. The wider the catchment area and land use, the more the abundance and burden of microplastic pollutants will increase.
