Abstract
Di masa pandemi ini, pemerintah, perusahaan, dan juga media berusaha menghentikan penyebaran COVID-19 dengan menggencarkan kampanye melawan COVID-19 melalui Iklan Layanan Masyarakat. Korea Selatan adalah salah satu negara yang paling sukses dalam menangani COVID-19, dengan melakukan kerjasama dengan TUBA Entertainment untuk membuat episode spesial dalam serial televisinya, Larva, yang berfungsi sebagai kampanye untuk mencegah penyebaran COVID-19. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penanda dan petanda yang dilambangkan oleh setiap tanda yang terdapat pada video Melakukan Protokol Kesehatan COVID-19 Bersama Larva dan untuk mengetahui makna denotatif dan konotatif yang ditunjukkan oleh setiap tanda yang terdapat pada video Melakukan Protokol Kesehatan COVID-19 Bersama Larva. Metode yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dan analisis dokumen. Data yang digunakan adalah gambargambar yang diambil dari video Melakukan Protokol Kesehatan COVID-19 Bersama Larva yang di dalamnya terdapat tanda-tanda semiotik dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan teori model tanda dua bagian oleh Ferdinand de Saussure (1959) dan teori urutan pemaknaan oleh Roland Barthes (2007). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa data temuan terbagi menjadi tiga plot pada episode pertama dan empat plot pada episode kedua, yang masing-masing terdiri dari 23 gambar tangkapan layar pada episode pertama dan 19 gambar tangkapan layar pada episode kedua. Dari temuan tersebut, diketahui bahwa setiap adegan pada setiap episode mengandung makna denotatif dan konotatif yang memberikan andil pada analisis oposisi biner. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan bagi peneliti selanjutnya yang ingin melakukan penelitian dan memilih semiotika sebagai topik penelitiannya. Selain itu, disarankan juga untuk menggunakan metodologi penelitian yang berbeda untuk memberikan banyak pengetahuan yang berguna bagi pembaca dalam memahami analisis semiotika.
English Abstract
In this pandemic, the government, companies, and also the media are trying to stop the spreading of COVID-19 by intensifying the campaign against COVID- 19 through Public Service Announcements. South Korea is one of the most successful countries in handling the COVID-19, by doing a collaboration with TUBA Entertainment to make a special episode in its television series, Larva, which acts as a campaign to prevent the spreading of COVID-19. Therefore, this research aims to find out the signifier and signified denoted by each sign found in the Doing COVID-19 Health Protocols with Larva videos and to find out the denotative and connotative meanings exemplified by each sign found in the Doing COVID-19 Health Protocols with Larva videos. The method used to analyze the data in this research is a qualitative approach and document analysis. The data are images captured from Doing COVID-19 Health Protocols with Larva videos that contain semiotic signs and analyzed by using Ferdinand de Saussure’s dyadic model of sign theory (1959) and the orders of signification theory by Roland Barthes (2007). The result of this research found that the data findings are divided into three plots in the first episode and four plots in the second episode, which each of it consists of 23 screen-captured images in the first episode and 19 screen-captured images in the second episode. From those findings, it is found out that every scene in each episode contains denotative and connotative meanings which contributes to the analysis of binary opposition. The study is expected to give some insight for the next researchers who want to conduct a study and choosing semiotics as their topic of the research. Moreover, it is also suggested to use the different research methodology to provide the readers a lot of useful knowledge in understanding a semiotic analysis.
