Pemodelan Sebaran Tumpahan Minyak di Perairan Pantai Utara Jawa Barat Berdasarkan Model Hidrodinamika Tiga Dimensi Baroklinik

Nazal, Zulkarnain Bilhaqqi (2021) Pemodelan Sebaran Tumpahan Minyak di Perairan Pantai Utara Jawa Barat Berdasarkan Model Hidrodinamika Tiga Dimensi Baroklinik. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

English Abstract

Human activities in fishing, oil exploitation and shipping lanes can cause marine pollution. One example is oil spills which can be caused by offshore drilling leaks and ship accidents. On July 12, 2019 there was an oil spill in Karawang Waters, West Java due to leakage of Rig-ensco67 belonging to PT. Pertamina Hulu Energi. The leak caused as much as 3000 barrels of crude oil type 6 fuels to spill over the coastal areas of Karawang and its surroundings. Oil spill modeling was carried out for approximately four months (July - October). The method used in this research is the Regional Ocean Modeling System and the General NOAA Operational Modeling Environment. Regional Ocean Modeling System (ROMS) is used as a baroclinic three-dimensional hydrodynamic model to determine the distribution of oil spills. The purpose of using the baroclinic model is to realistically determine the water conditions, in the baroclinic three-dimensional model the hydrodynamic data used are: wind, currents, tides, bathymetry, coastline, temperature, salinity and sea level elevation. The results of the three-dimensional baroclinic hydrodynamic model in .nc format which will be input into the GNOME software movers tools. The results of baroclinic three-dimensional hydrodynamic modeling will be a graph of water conditions that includes hydrodynamic data. The results of the GNOME oil spill modeling are the prediction of the distribution of the oil spill and the estimation of the amount of oil that has undergone a physical and chemical process in the water. The results of the research on the modeling of the oil spill in the Karawang waters during the four months of observation (July-October) indicate that the direction of oil movement is from east to west. The final result of the GNOME model shows that the black point (oil spill point) is along the coast of Karawang - Bekasi with the amount of oil spilled 2810 barels consisting of 25 barrels floating in the sea, 1111 barrels along the Karawang coast and 1674 experiencing evaporation or dispersion. The results of processing the SAR satellite image data show that during the four months after the oil spill incident there were at least six points affected by the oil spill. This is indicated by black dots on the SAR satellite image. Based on the results of the GNOME software oil spill model with SAR satellite imagery it shows that at the end of the study, October 22, the oil spill was spread over six points along the coast of Karawang to Bekasi.
