Literature Review : Determinasi Kepribadian Berbasis Five Factor Model (FFM) Sebagai Indikator Depresi Postpartum pada Ibu Postpartum

Paramitha Puspitandari, Synthia (2021) Literature Review : Determinasi Kepribadian Berbasis Five Factor Model (FFM) Sebagai Indikator Depresi Postpartum pada Ibu Postpartum. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

English Abstract

Background: Personality reflects individual variants in emotional reactivity (internal) and environmental stimuli (external). Personality can serve as a means of reinforcement to explain patterns of comorbidity and provide a more etiologically relevant classification system. Understanding the relationship between personality and state of mind, especially postpartum depression, can help midwives in improving the quality of health services provided to mothers. Objective: To identify personalities that is associated with postpartum depression. Method: Literature Review. In this study, secondary data from 10 reputable journals within the year range of 2010-2020 were synthesized using PICO-T. The major discussion focused on the relationship of the five personalities in the Five-Factor Model to postpartum depression. In addition, research techniques and instrumentation effectiveness are briefly discussed as a complement. Result: Neuroticism, Extraversion, and Conscientiousness respectively have a significant relationship with postpartum depression. Conclusion: In the Five-Factor Model, Neuroticism, Extraversion, and Conscientiousness can be used as main indicators of postpartum depression. However, it is important to note that we should not to be too hasty in drawing conclusions from the remaining 2 personalities, agreeableness and openness to experience, because the current research on personality is still under development. Keywords : Postpartum Depression, Big Five Personality, Five Factor Model.
