Abstract

Situs Computer Assisted Test Sistem Informasi atau biasa disingkat menjadi CAT-SI merupakan salah satu situs yang dimiliki oleh Fakultas Ilmu Komputer Universitas Brawijaya. Situs CAT-SI memiliki tujuan yaitu untuk memenuhi kebutuhan evaluasi pembelajaran mahasiswa secara daring khususnya saat ujian akhir semester karena menyesuaikan kondisi pandemi Covid-19. Proses pengembangan situs CAT- SI cenderung singkat karena kebutuhannya yang cukup mendesak, sehingga diperlukan adanya pengembangan dan perbaikan lebih lanjut dari segi tampilan, struktur informasi, dan beberapa fitur seperti live meeting, chat, notifikasi, dan kalender ujian. Metode Design Thinking dapat menjadi solusi untuk menghasilkan rancangan situs web yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna pada penelitian ini, karena belum adanya penelitian yang dilakukan pada situs CAT-SI sebelumnya sehingga perlu melakukan penggalian kebutuhan lebih mendalam kepada pengguna dengan melakukan pendekatan secara empati. Dalam penerapannya, metode Design Thinking memiliki 5 tahap proses yaitu empathize untuk menggali kebutuhan pengguna, define untuk menganalisis dan menentukan permasalahan, ideate untuk membuat poin-poin dan rancangan solusi, prototype untuk membuat produk solusi yang sudah dapat diujikan, dan test untuk menguji tingkat validasi kepada pengguna. Tahap evaluasi awal dan akhir penelitian menggunakan kuesioner System Usability Scale (SUS). Hasil perbandingan dari nilai rata-rata yang didapat selama evaluasi yaitu sebesar 43.5 menjadi 77 poin. yang mana poin tersebut memenuhi kategori “Acceptable”, “Good”, pada “Grade B”.

English Abstract

The Computer Assisted Test Information System site is a site owned by the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya in meeting the needs of conducting online student final exams when the distance learning method was established by the government in Indonesia due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In its use, the site has been used by the Faculty for approximately 1 year, and because of the urgency to adjust to the pandemic conditions, the process of creating the CAT-SI site only took a few moments so there are still many things that need to be developed further. In connection with the absence of research that makes the CAT-SI site its object, it is necessary to extract data to users from scratch. The method that is considered quite appropriate and relevant to these problems is the approach of empathy to the user to obtain in-depth data mining is the Design Thinking method. In addition to the problems above, this was also proven qualitatively when conducting interviews with 30 students with very varied input results, ranging from feeling that some buttons on the CAT-SI site were not in accordance with their function and layout, the flow tends to be complex, features that cannot be used, to the aesthetics of the site which is less minimalist and flat. In quantitative testing, the System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire method is used with the aim of assessing usability from the satisfaction aspect because the average problems obtained from users are more directed to this aspect, the results obtained are 43.5 points from the initial test. After making improvements to the design results, there were several differences both in function and design, such as the addition of meeting call features, notifications, and also the exam calendar, in addition to making improvements to the flow of the site and also rescaled some button and text sizes. Based on the results of these improvements, a second SUS test was carried out with a score of 77 points. It can be concluded that the improvement process using the Design Thinking method was successfully carried out with a percentage increase of 77.01%
