Abstract
Aluminum seri 7xxx merupakan paduan aluminium dengan zinc sebagai paduan utamanya, digunakan pada struktur pesawat dan aplikasi yang membutuhkan material dengan kekuatan yang tinggi. Cara yang banyak dipakai untuk meningkatkan kualitas aluminium adalah electrolessplating dan heat treatment. Pada penelitian ini ditelaah mengenai pengaruh electroless nickel plating dan perlakuan panas pasca proses pelapisan terhadap struktur mikro paduan aluminium 7075. Sebelum proses electrolessplating dilakukan, spesimen terlebih dahulu melalui proses pretreatment pada spesimen aluminium yaitu proses zincate treatment. Proses electrolessplating dilakukan pada suhu 90°C dengan selama 2 jam. Kemudian diberi perlakuan panas pada suhu 150°C selama 10 jam. Pengujian dengan SEM-EDS, XRD, dan uji microstructure dilakukan untuk mengetahui morfologi permukaan, untuk menganalisa fasa kristal dan unsur yang terdapat pada spesimen. Tidak ada perbedaan komposisi yang signifikan antara spesimen electrolessplating dengan heat treatment dan tanpa heat treatment. Sedangkan ukuran crystalline berubah akibat adanya heat treatment pada spesimen electrolessplating. Sementara struktur mikro tidak berubah secara signifikan setelah spesimen melalui proses heat treatment.

Undergraduate Supervisor: Putu Hadi Setrayini and Slamet Wahyudi. Aluminum is a metal that is widely used in various industries, one of which is the aircraft industry. In the aircraft industry several series of aluminum are used, one of which is the 7075 series. Aluminum 7075 combines high strength and good corrosion resistance, thus having a high strength-to-weight ratio. These properties can be further improved to meet the needs of the aircraft industry. The method that is widely used is electroplating to coat aluminum so that its mechanical properties can be improved with the help of electric current. However, electroplating has a disadvantage where the layer formed is uneven. Electrolessplating is the only method used to coat aluminum surfaces. Electrolessplating is carried out without an electric current and has the advantage that the layer is formed more evenly and then heat treatment is carried out to improve its mechanical properties. In this study, the electrolessplating process of Ni-B and heat treatment was carried out to determine its effect on the surface of aluminum 7075. Electrolessplating was carried out for 2 hours at a temperature of 90±1 and pH 13±0.5 then the heat treatment process was carried out at a temperature of 150°C with a time of 10 hour. X-ray Diffraction (XRD) test was carried out to determine the crystal size of aluminum 7075. By heat treatment after electroless plating, it was found that the crystal size of Ni in the specimen was increased. Microstructural tests were carried out to determine the surface morphology of aluminum, specimens, the results showed that there was no change in the morphology of electroless plating specimens after heat treatment. The EDS test was carried out to determine the distribution of Ni on aluminum, on aluminum without Ni treatment it had not been seen, while for aluminum with electrolessplating the composition of Ni was seen in the specimen, and there was no change after heat treatment.
