Abstract

Tanah lunak memiliki kuat geser rendah, kompresibiltas tinggi, dan koefisien permabilitas yang rendah. Jika tanah lunak dibebani secara terus menerus, akan menyebabkan deformasi yang besar serta waktu yang lama. Sayangnya, pada pembangunan Jalan Tol Gempol-Pasuruan ditemukan tanah lunak. Maka dari itu perlu perbaikan tanah sebelum pembangunan dilakukan. Salah satu metode perbaikan tanah untuk mengakali deformasi yang terjadi adalah Deep Cement Mixing (DCM). DCM adalah metode perbaikan tanah yang dilakukan dengan cara mencampurkan tanah dengan semen sampai kedalaman tertentu. Pada studi analisis ini, DCM dimodelkan pada tanah lunak menggunakan program elemen hingga 2D, dengan diameter 1 meter dan kedalaman 17 meter. Analisis dilakukan dengan 3 variasi, yaitu tanah tanpa perbaikan tanah, dengan perbaikan DCM dengan spasi 1,1 meter dan perbaikan DCM dengan spasi 1,3 meter. Selanjutnya dilakukan perhitungan penurunan dengan metode analisis yang hasilnya akan dibandingkan dengan keluaran program elemen hingga agar hasil dari promgram elemen hingga dapat dipastikan kebenarannya. Hasil analisis menunjukkan deformasi yang terjadi pada tanah yang diperbaiki menggunakan DCM menurun hingga 67% dibandingkan dengan tanah tanpa perbaikan, dengan hasil deformasi terkecil pada tanah lunak dengan perbaikan DCM spasi 1,1 meter.

To build toll roads, strong soil is needed; therefore, the structure of the toll roads will become durable and not damaged easily. One of the toll roads that is being built in Indonesia is Gempol-Pasuruan Toll Road with the total length of 34.15 kms. Unfortunately, soft soil is found on the construction site of the toll road. Consequently, a soil improvement needed to be done before the construction of the toll road. One of the soil improvement method is deep cement mixing (DCM). This method is done by mixing the soil with a certain amount of cement and designed depth. DCM can be used to transfer the load from the soft soil surface to soil underneath the soft soil, so that the deformation of soft soil can be decreased. This analytical study was conducted by modelling soft soil using the 2D finite element method on a field scale by varying the spacing of DCM. The DCM spacings used in this analytical study are 1.1 meters and 1.3 meters. Besides modelling soft soil with DCM, this analytical study also models the soft soil without any improvement in order to see the differences between soil with and without improvement. The soft soil receives 2 loads, which are embankment load and traffic load. Output from FEM 2D will be verified with an analytical method to confirm the output of FEM 2D. Based on the finite element method, the use of DCM with variations of DCM spacings affected the deformation of soft soil. Soft soil with no improvement deformed by 1.896 meters, while soft soil using DCM improvement with the DCM spacing of 1.1 meters deformed by 0.4831 meters, and 1.3 meters deformed by 0.5838 meters. With analytical method, soft soil with no improvement deformed by 2.0727 meters, while using DCM improvement with the DCM spacing of 1.1 meters deformed by 0.5368 meters and 1.3 meters deformed by 0,6799 meters.
