Abstract

Kota Medan diprediksi akan macet total pada tahun 2024 sehingga pengembangan kota berkonsep Transit Oriented Development berusaha menyelesaikan masalah kemacetan dengan meningkatkan integrasi antar moda transportasi pada kawasan. Jalur pedestrian pada Kawasan Lapangan Merdeka yang masuk dalam pengembangan berkonsep TOD di Kota Medan menjadi kunci integrasi akses transportasi publik pada kawasan. Evaluasi atas aksesibilitas jalur pedestrian dapat digunakan sebagai pedoman pengembangan aksesibilitas jalur pedestrian dengan penilaian terhadap: konfigurasi spasial dan kondisi faktual jalur pedestrian. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode campur kualitatif-kuantitatif dengan tolok ukur evaluasi menggunakan media Space Syntax dan observasi sederhana yang hasilnya akhirnya diperkuat kuesioner pengguna jalur pedestrian.

English Abstract

Lowis Barita Yoshua Marpaung, Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, University of Brawijaya, Accessibility of Lapangan Merdeka Pedestrian Way Concepting as Transit Oriented Development in Medan, Academic Supervisor: Ir. Sigmawan Tri Pamungkas, MT. Research of accessibility on Lapangan Merdeka takes Talavera (2012) concept. Where improving pedestrian accessibility rely on two aspects, which are: pedestrian accessibility itself and its spatial configuration. In short, pedestrian accessibility speaks not only about space and time, but also configurational spatial. Final result of this research is function as defining rate of pedestrian way accessibility quality that provided on area that concepted with TOD concept. Object of this research are surrounding pedestrian ways of Lapangan Merdeka that functioned as central transit between Metro Deli Buses with train. This area had been chosen as Medan Central TOD basis on Medan Urban Land Use Plan 2015-2035. Metro Deli Buses that use are the newest central government program to complete the needs of public transportation change in TOD area. This research is using mix method, qualitative and quantitative research. Qualitative research consists of field observation of pedestrian way infrastructure and quantitative research, consist of: questioner of user’s perceptions and Space Syntax. Variables that use on field research are: User Efficiency, User Equality, Safety and Security, Ease of Access, Ease of Information, and Infrastructure Adequacy. Whereas, the Space Syntax variables consist of: Connectivity, Integration, Intelligibility, Choice, and Depth for measuring the pedestrian way spatial configuration quantitively. Mix results of both methods conduct the final result of TOD’s pedestrian accessibility development quality rate on Medan that consist of overall aspects, which are spatial configuration and pedestrian quality aspects that divided into several zones.
