Pratita Danastri Yuwono, Aisyah (2021) Kriteria Desain Interior Indekos Pada Era New Normal (Studi Kasus Indekos Keputih Andy Rahman). Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
The city of Surabaya has many universities which each year accept new students, both from within and outside the region. Students who come from outside the area need temporary housing during the study period, one of which is a boarding house. Boarding house is a service that rents out rooms for a certain period. At the end of 2019, the world was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic which attacked the human respiratory system, making the order of human life change into a new normal order. The boarding house as a place to live for students outside the region requires adjustments to the new normal order so that residents are safe in the building and reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. Occupants will be in the building for a long time, so in the adjustment it is necessary to pay attention to the comfort factor of the occupants. The comfort and safety of the occupants is viewed from the aspect of the interior elements. The study used a qualitative descriptive research design and used a case study. The object of the case study used in this research is the Keputih Boarding House Volume 1 to the Keputih Boarding House Volume 5 designed by Andy Rahman. The selection of the object of study was based on predetermined criteria, namely the location of the boarding house is close to the campus in the city of Surabaya, the residents of the boarding house are students, the boarding house has an open communal area, and the boarding house has good ventilation. The research begins with a literature study which is the basis and reference. Furthermore, observations were made on the object of study with the unit for observing aspects of interior elements. The data were then analyzed descriptively and comparisons were made between study objects. From the comparison results, conclusions are drawn and produce interior design criteria for boarding houses in the new normal era. The criteria obtained from this study are divided into three categories. In the new normal interior elements, the spatial arrangement is arranged based on zoning by placing the bathroom close to the circulation path, arranging furniture at a distance of >1 meter so that residents are social distancing, the building has an opening of more than 20% and it is recommended to have a courtyard and skylights, the material used has a texture smooth or even for easy cleaning. In the interior elements forming the space, the texture of the material used for walls, floors, and ceilings needs to be considered, and the ceiling has a height of >3 meters to facilitate ventilation. In the atmosphere-forming interior elements, light and color affect the impression of space, the use of natural colors is recommended so that residents feel comfortable, aesthetic elements can add a natural impression such as plant elements or roster to help ventilation.
