Bachtiar Suwandoko, Adiwena (2021) PENGARUH PROSENTASE LUASAN DEEP CEMENT MIXING (DCM) TERHADAP DAYA DUKUNG TANAH LUNAK. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

English Abstract

Soil is the basis and also the most important part of a construction. In a construction, a good building is built on land that has a stable bearing capacity so that the building above it does not collapse. To avoid the failure of a construction on it, soil improvement is carried out to increase the carrying capacity of the soil. Improvements to be made are Deep Soil Mixing (DSM) with a mixture of cement, this improvement is carried out to a depth of 30 meters. In this study, the method that will be used is Deep Cement Mixing (DCM) using a mixture of cement as an additive, the type of cement used in this experiment is PCC. The research was conducted on a laboratory scale with a box measuring 50x50 cm, the soil was in a slurry state with a percentage of water content of about 95%, and the repair specimen had a diameter of 6 inches, height 30 cm. There were 4 trials where the percentage improvement was 7.29%, 15.6%, 21.9%, and 29.2%. To make the test object, the soil is first crushed into small grains, then mixed with cement and molded into a 6 inch pipe. After that, curing will be carried out for 3 days in the mold, and 4 days in a box with original soil. Then a vertical loading test is carried out by hydraulic pump until the load value constant and the sample is deformed. From these experiments, it was found that the change in settlement that occurred for every increase in the percentage of improvement experienced an increase in soil strength where at the time of repair with a percentage of 7.29% when the stress was 0.18 Kg/cm2 decreased by 40.47mm, while the percentage of improvement was 29.2%. when the stress was 0.18 Kg/cm2 decreased by 16.93 Kg/cm2, and the carrying capacity of the soil for each percentage improvement experienced an increase in BCI where the BCI value at the percentage improvement was 7.29% 0, while the BCI value at the percentage improvement was 29.2 % is 154%. It can be concluded that the improvements made are quite effective in increasing the bearing capacity of the soil.
