Abstract
Skripsi ini menjelaskan hasil penelitian tentang kinerja streamer penangkap petir franklin dengan beberapa sudut keruncingan. Penelitian dilakukan untuk membuktikan sudut keruncingan dan diameter penangkap petir mana yang bekerja paling baik. Kinerja penangkap petir dapat dilihat dari seberapa banyak jumlah muatan elektron yang diproduksi ketika penangkap petir itu bekerja. Penelitian diawali dengan membahas teori berupa teori penangkap petir, tembus streamer, efisiensi medan listrik, dan perhitungan produksi elektron tiap detik. Kemudian penentuan variabel objek uji penangkap petir Variabel penelitian ini berupa sudut keruncingan dan diameter penangkap petir. Penangkap petir yang digunakan berjumlah 6 buah dengan masing-masing detail ukuran yaitu Rod 1 d = 2cm α = 300, Rod 2 d = 2cm α =4 50, Rod 3 d = 2cm α = 600, Rod 4 d = 4cm α = 300, Rod 5 d = 4cm α =450, dan Rod 6 d = 2cm α = 600. Selanjutnya dilakukan pengambilan data berupa tegangan korona (Uc), tegangan tembus (Ud), arus streamer (Is), distribusi medan listrik, dan jumlah produksi muatan elektron. Pengujian dilakukan dengan memberikan variasi polaritas positif dan negatif dan juga variasi jarak sela sebesar 3 cm, 4 cm dan 5 cm pada masing-masing pengujian. Penetuan distribusi medan listrik didapatkan dengan melakukan simulasi menggunakan aplikasi FEMM. Perhitungan jumlah muatan elektron yang diproduksi pada konduktor penangkap petir dapat dilihat dari besaran nilai arus streamer yang sudah didapat. Dari pengujian yang sudah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin besar diameter penangkap petir, maka tegangan tembus, tegangan korona, arus streamer, distribusi medan listrik, dan produksi muatan elektron tiap detik semakin besar. Semakin kecil sudut keruncingan penangkap petir, maka tegangan tembus, tegangan korona, arus streamer, distribusi medan listrik, dan jumlah produksi muatan elektron tiap detik semakin besar. Objek uji Rod 4 dengan diameter 4 cm dan sudut keruncingan 300 memiliki kinerja yang paling baik.
English Abstract
This thesis describes the results of research on the performance of Franklin's lightning catcher streamer with several sharp angles. The research was conducted to prove which taper angle and diameter of the lightning catcher works best. The performance of the lightning catcher can be seen from how much the number of electron charges generated when catching the lightning works. The research begins by discussing theories such as lightning catcher theory, streamer penetration, electric field efficiency, and the calculation of electron production every second. Then the determination of the object variable for the lightning catcher. The variables of this research are the tapered angle and the diameter of the lightning catcher. The lightning catchers used are 6 pieces with each detail size, namely Rod 1 d = 2cm α = 300, Rod 2 d = 2cm α =4 50, Rod 3 d = 2cm α = 600, Rod 4 d = 4cm α = 300, Rod 5 d = 4cm α =450, dan Rod 6 d = 2cm α = 600. Then, data were collected in the form of corona voltage (Uc), breakdown voltage (Ud), streamer current (Is), electric field distribution, and the amount of production electron charge. The test is carried out by providing variations of positive and negative polarity and also variations in the distance between 3 cm, 4 cm and 5 cm in each test. Determination of the electric field distribution is obtained by performing simulations using the FEMM application. The calculation of the number of electron charges produced on the lightning catch conductor can be seen from the value of the streamer current that has been obtained. From the tests that have been carried out, it can be concluded that the larger the diameter of the lightning catcher, the greater the breakdown voltage, corona voltage, streamer current, and electron charge production per second. However, the smaller the tapered angle of the lightning catcher, the greater the breakdown voltage, corona voltage, streamer current, and the number of electron charges produced per second. The test object Rod 4 with a diameter of 4 cm and a tapered angle of 300 had the best performance.
