English Abstract

An analysis of the peak ground acceleration of the earthquake in North Sumatra province has been carried out. Sumatra Province is part of the boundary meeting of several large plates so that this region is very vulnerable to earthquake shocks. Analysis of peak ground acceleration is very useful for areas prone to earthquake disasters. By knowing the value of peak ground acceleration, effective disaster mitigation can be done and also helps the construction of earthquake-resistant buildings. Determination of variations in the value of peak ground acceleration using the Mc.Guire method Donovan method, and the MV. Mickye method. The data used are earthquake hypocenter data collected from earthquake catalogs namely IRIS data during the interval between March 2000 and March 2020 covering the entire North Sumatra region. The analysis shows that the peak ground acceleration in North Sumatra Province using the Mc. Guire method obtained the value of peak ground acceleration around 2,43 gal to 20,15 gal. Donovan method is around 26,66 gal to 176,16 gal. while MV. Mickye obtained the value of land acceleration around 120,23 gal to 1259,93 gal.
