Abstract
Kesulitan akses perbankan menyebabkan masyarakat dengan tingkat perekonomian menengah ke bawah memilih pinjaman rentenir sebagai sumber modal usaha dan pemenuhan kebutuhan sehari-hari mereka. Pada prakteknya, banyak masyarakat yang tidak mengetahui dampak dari pinjaman rentenir tersebut sehingga masyarakat sering mengalami kerugian diluar batas kewajaran. Salah satu caranya adalah pemanfaatan lembaga keuangan mikro yang memiliki akses ke masyarakat menengah ke bawah. BMT UGT Sidogiri Malang Kota adalah salah satu lembaga mikro berbasis syariah yang berperan dalam mengatasi praktek rentenir di Kota Malang. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran BMT UGT Sidogiri Malang Kota dalam mengatasi praktek rentenir. Penelitian ini berjenis kualitatif dengan metode penelitian studi kasus. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa BMT UGT Sidogiri Malang Kota berperan dalam mengatasi praktek rentenir dengan menggunakan strategi preventif dan kuratif . Strategi preventif meliputi: operasi pasar, variasi produk simpanan, layanan jemput bola, memaksimalkan pembiayaan, margin yang lebih rendah, dan bonus. Strategu kuratif meliputi: pembiayaan take over.
English Abstract
Difficulties in accessing banks have caused people with lower middle economic levels to choose loan sharks as a source of business capital and fulfill their daily needs. In practice, many people do not know the impact of loan sharks, so the community often suffers losses beyond reasonable limits. One way is to use microfinance institutions that have access to the lower middle class. BMT UGT Sidogiri Malang Kota is one of the sharia-based micro-institutions which plays a role in overcoming the practice of moneylenders in Malang. The study aims to determine the role of BMT UGT Sidogiri Malang City in overcoming the practice of moneylenders. This research is a qualitative type with a case study research method. This study concludes that BMT UGT Sidogiri Malang Kota has a role in overcoming moneylender practices by using preventive and curative strategies. Preventive strategies include: market operations, variations in savings products, ball pick-up services, maximizing financing, lower margins, and bonuses. Curative strategies include: take over financing.
